00:04I'm here at Labour Conference, quite specifically Everton's training ground
00:07because the lobby are playing the MPs, it is thrill and I'm joined by Hexham's
00:12MP and all-round good egg Joe Morris. How is the game going, how are you feeling?
00:16Thank you very much Alex, it's great to be here, it's great to be interviewed by
00:19the Scotsman, obviously I'm just across the border from your readers. It's been
00:23it's been a good, I think it's been a tightly thought game, obviously I
00:25accidentally brought the wrong boots for the surface which I think impacted
00:28my performance a little bit, but you know other than that I think there's
00:32been some really good, good possession, spells of possession by both teams. I think
00:36Labour have really grown into it, it's been a real spirit of togetherness and you
00:40know having just equalised it's good to see that well change begins. Do you think
00:45Keir Starmer's leadership is going well given that he's, do you think he's ducked the
00:49game? Essentially has he ducked coming to the game? He ducked the morning round,
00:51has he ducked coming to the match? Do you not think he's a good footballer? I think
00:55Keir's a far better footballer than me and I wouldn't want to jeopardise my
00:58career by playing on the same pitch as him. What's your least favourite thing
01:01about the Union? This is really, we really should have gone through the topics. Okay
01:08he is actually wearing Astros, I can't move the camera because as you can see
01:11we're on the wire at the moment, but he is wearing Astros and he's so big he's
01:15got to stand far back because I'm normal-sized. Do you think you're gonna win?
01:20I mean we'll know by the time this video goes out, we'll know. But you know what
01:23like anything can happen in football, it really has been a game of two halves. I
01:27would say you know like the score is less important than the performance you
01:30know like as a great man once said you know the beauty is in the struggle. And
01:35anything you'd like to say to your friends and fans at home? To quote
01:38Jonathan Wilson. Okay also this is your first Labour Conference as a member of
01:42Parliament, what are you most looking forward to doing other than trying to
01:44win this football match? It's just great to see our agenda being rolled out in
01:48government you know we campaigned hard for change, we're delivering that change.
01:51It's not easy, it's not overnight, people accept that. I've been out on the doors
01:56in my constituency but people recognise that we were handed a toxic inheritance.
02:00People don't expect us to work miracles but they expect they expect a government
02:04that's got the interest of working people at heart and that's what this
02:06government has. There's just been an awful foul but the lobby on the counter
02:10can this be a goal? Oh he's offside. It won't be a goal but we'll find out what's
