Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a roundtable meeting with CEOs of major AI and semiconductor companies in New York following the Quad Summit. Google CEO Sundar Pichai and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang were among the attendees. Pichai highlighted Modi's interest in leveraging AI for India's benefit and praised the 'Make in India' initiative, mentioning Google's Pixel phones being manufactured there. Huang described Modi as an "incredible student" eager to learn about technology, underscoring the PM's focus on technological advancement for India.

00:06India, as you know, is also home of some of the world's greatest computer scientists.
00:10So this is a great opportunity.
00:13Both in terms of the opportunity that AI will create,
00:16but he wants to make sure ultimately AI is there to benefit the people of India.
00:22Artificial intelligence is also a new industry.
00:25A new manufacturing industry that's very important.
00:28The Prime Minister has been focused on transforming India with his Digital India vision.
00:35He pushed us to continue making in India, designing in India.
00:40We are proud to now make our Pixel phones manufactured in India.
00:45He is really thinking about how AI can transform India in a way that benefits the people of India.
00:52He challenged us to think about applications in healthcare, education, agriculture.
00:59And he's also thinking about the infrastructure of India.
01:03The data centers, power, energy and investing to make sure India can transition.
01:11And we are proud to be partnering with India.
01:13We are robustly investing in AI in India and we look forward to doing more.
01:19We have several programs in partnership with METI, the Agriculture and Health Ministries,
01:25the central and state governments, and we look forward to doing more in India.
01:29He has always challenged all of us to do more, more for India.
01:34And now he's asking us to do the same with AI.
01:38He has a clear vision, both in terms of the opportunity that AI will create,
01:44but he wants to make sure ultimately AI is there to benefit the people of India.
01:49And he has a clear vision that it should all be in the service of people of India.

01:55I've enjoyed so many meetings with Prime Minister.
01:58He's such an incredible student.
02:00And every time I see him, he wants to learn about technology, artificial intelligence,
02:05the potential and opportunity for India, the impact on India's society and industry.
02:11And so I was delighted to be here to talk about it.
02:14India, as you know, is also home of some of the world's greatest computer scientists.

02:21Artificial intelligence is also a new industry, a new manufacturing industry that's very important.
02:27And so I'm looking forward to partnering with India in a very deep way to make that possible.
02:31We have many partnerships with India.
02:34For one, we're helping India gain access to our most advanced technologies.
02:39We're partnering with Internet companies like Yoda and end-to-end networks
02:45to create the latest generation of AI supercomputers in India for all of the startups.
02:52India is the home of the third largest startup economy.
02:57And so this new generation of startups are all based on AI.
03:01And in order to do so, you have to have AI infrastructure.
03:05Just the number of partnerships we have all over India,
03:08every IIT has an NVIDIA AI center of excellence.
03:13We're teaching professionals, we're teaching students how to upskill into this new world of AI.
03:20AI in a lot of ways is very complicated technology,
03:23but in the end what it enables a country to do is take advantage of technology,
03:28take advantage of computers in a way that has never been possible before.
03:32And so AI really democratized computing.
03:35This is India's moment.
03:37You have to seize the opportunity.
