00:41The President's trips abroad are still ongoing to receive invitations from foreign leaders and to carry out diplomatic initiatives.

00:49The Office of the Ombudsman also participated in the budget hearing.

00:525.8 billion pesos were allocated under the NEP,

00:56including 51.468 million for confidential funds.

01:00Of course, Your Honor, we need the 51 million.

01:05But as I said, there are other investigating agencies who need this money more than us.

01:15If you can give us the same amount that you gave us last year for 2024, the 1 million,

01:32But the Ombudsman asked for an additional 975 million pesos

01:36for hiring more than 60 lawyers to add to their manpower.

01:50but it will still be discussed in the plenary if it can be given the additional 900 million pesos it is asking for.

01:56In the plenary of the Chamber, Makabayan Blok discussed the proposed budget for the Intelligence Fund

02:02of the National Security Council or NSC and the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency or NICA.

02:07In the current budget, the NSC allocated 10 million pesos more for the intel gathering of the NTF-LCOC

02:15than the intel work for the West Philippine Sea.

02:1860 million, right?

02:20And that's only 50 million in WPS.

02:43Makabayan Blok also did not support NICA's 640 million pesos intel fund.

03:32Makabayan Blok asked for the agency's commitment to continue the peace talks between the government and the CPP-NDF.

03:52Now, the budget of the Office of the Vice President should also be included, but Vice President Sara Duterte is still a no-show.

04:03Vice President Duterte said that she has approved the deliberation of the proposed 2025 budget of her office in the plenary of the Chamber.

04:11According to House Minority Leader Marcelino Libanan, Vice President Duterte sent a representative,

04:20If not amended, the recommendation of the Committee on Appropriations, which includes more than half of the requested budget of the OVP, should be strengthened.
