00:39quote, offer new insight and a fresh perspective on a case that people only think they know.
00:45After Monsters was released last week, Eric Menendez spoke out about how he and his brother
00:50Lyle are depicted in the scripted series. Eric said in a statement, in part,
00:54It is sad for me to know that Netflix's dishonest portrayal of the tragedies surrounding our crime
00:59have taken the painful truths several steps backward, back through time to an era when
01:03the prosecution built a narrative on a belief system that males were not sexually abused,
01:08and that males experienced rape trauma differently than women. Those awful lies
01:12have been disrupted and exposed by countless brave victims over the last two decades who've
