00:15Good morning Connie and to all of our listeners, good morning.
00:19Sir, how will the standing arrest order of Atty. Harry Roque affect your investigation that he issued a writ of amparo to the Supreme Court?
00:30Well actually, it won't affect much unless the Supreme Court has decided already on his petition.
00:39But until such time that we haven't received a decision from the Supreme Court, we will be doing our job as mandated to us by our rules that was adopted by the Congress.
00:57At the same time, we are asking him for documents, which he promised also to deliver in the House of Representatives, must be given to us voluntarily because he volunteered to give it to us.
01:12We are just wondering because what he filed to the Supreme Court is his site in contempt, not precisely on the documents that we wanted to secure,
01:29but when we cited it to him, not on the documents, but on him not attending our hearing.
01:43Actually Connie, what's more important to us personally, if you will ask me, is the IPR that we're asking him for.
01:56But even though we filed it to the Supreme Court, he still has a responsibility to the Congress to submit it to us.
02:04Okay. But that's just your reaction. He said that the Congress should not use the power to conduct a legislative inquiry in an abusive and oppressive manner.
02:16What is your stand on that?
02:19I didn't see the abusive in our legislative inquiry. We were asking him for the documents because he voluntarily told us that he's going to submit the documents.
02:32We asked for the documents and he didn't attend. So we cited him due sesagum. It means that you brought the documents that we were asking, that you asked for.
02:48So for us to see the questions in the legislative inquiry pertaining to those rights in his income that will be reflected in his SIL and IPR.
03:12If this increases because of that purchase of property that he was manifesting in Congress, then okay. But if not, then meaning there are other means from which it came from.
03:26So what we're asking for that is that we have to amend our laws pertaining to those public officials who are in service to be responsible enough in this kind of earning money.
03:49Because if you don't put it in the SIL and IPR, then you have a responsibility to our government that you're hiding. We should increase the penalty if we see that our public officials are hiding this.
04:10All right. But according to your information, do you think that Attorney Harry Roque is still here in the Philippines?
04:18Well I believe so that he's still here. We believe that he's still around. His wife, Myla, I think she already left on September 5.
04:30I see. But do you have a plan to have a hearing on the DOJ on the whole departure order?
04:38I think there was a motion asking the Bureau of Immigration to notify the Congress if something will come out in the person of Mr. Harry Roque.
