00:00Welcome back everyone it's Charlie Marvel was just talking about doing more ghostwriter
00:14in the MCU and it was not the version of ghostwriter most people would expect either.
00:19We also found out what's going on with Johnny blaze I know there's a ton of questions about
00:22Robbie Reyes from agents of shield.
00:24There was a ghostwriter TV series that they were working on a couple years ago that I'll
00:28explain anytime I do videos about characters coming back like we talk about ghostwriter
00:33coming back.
00:34I always get ton of agents of shield questions.
00:37So we'll break it all down.
00:38This is the head of Marvel TV who's in charge of all the TV shows they do all the animated
00:42stuff like X-Men 97 all the live action stuff they're doing right now like Agatha all along
00:47to daredevil born again next year talking about them doing a Danny catch ghostwriter
00:52story in a new TV series that Danny catch era of ghostwriter everybody's been waiting
00:58for years to see a version of ghostwriter show up in the new movies and the newer shows
01:03since Disney bought Fox and canceled all those old ghostwriter TV series plans that they
01:07were in the middle of making they were legit in the middle of getting ready to film with
01:10that pre-production.
01:11It was all ready to go and then boom canceled all explain why they cancel those plans because
01:16it was all part of this larger consolidation that was happening as we were getting into
01:20the lead up of avengers infinity war and avengers endgame around that era of Marvel.

01:28This is just the beginning.
01:29We're just starting to see more supernatural stuff inside the MCU like were in the middle
01:32of Agatha all along episodes.
01:34It trades heavily in the world of the supernatural.
01:37There's even a connection between that series and ghostwriter through the Jennifer Cale
01:42character their potions which inside Agatha's new coven on the witches road.
01:46She's actually Johnny blaze and Danny catches cousin they'll have the same grandfather and
01:51she crossed over with both of them for runs of the ghostwriter comic typically shows up
01:55in closely related supernatural stories to.
01:58But I do not expect to actually see a version of ghostwriter like legit show up on that
02:02TV series.
02:03They do make a lot of references and Easter eggs for all that stuff though everyone's
02:06dusting off their old Wandavision Mephisto memes just because it looks like the episodes
02:10will invoke a lot more Mephisto connections and jokes and things just adjacent to a lot
02:15of the ghostwriter stuff is happening, but the showrunner for that series said that when
02:19they were making Wandavision a lot of the deeper lore the theorycrafting the deeper
02:23connections that the fandom was tuned into and there were a lot like deeper connections
02:28the actual people making that show were not even clued in on a lot of that stuff like
02:33a lot of the deeper lore wasn't even on their map when they were making it and because of
02:38how that turned out bit of a debacle going into Agatha episodes.
02:42They were tuned into those things way more, but my expectation just based on the way they've
02:45talked about the crazier connections and Easter eggs all the theorycrafting foreshadowing
02:50that they've been doing is that they plan to purposefully mess with us when it comes
02:54to Easter eggs.
02:55So just be prepared for that.
02:58When the head of Marvel TV is talking about wanting to do a Danny catch ghostwriter story.
03:02He's talking about a series, not a movie, so you have to think more in the vibe of Robbie
03:06Reyes agents of shield ghostwriter and how they did his character during a 20 plus season
03:11of TV.
03:12Like I said they were actually legit going to make a TV series with his character, but
03:16it was going to be 20 episodes is going to be closer like 10 episodes per season Marvel
03:20as of today isn't going to do 20 episodes for like any character even daredevil born
03:25again isn't going to get 20 episodes per season.
03:28There was like a brief hot second when it was going to be 18 episodes for season one,
03:32but they were going to break it in the middle.
03:34So what they done with daredevil born again next year is it will be nine episodes for
03:37season one in the just turn the second half of the season into season two the year after
03:41that is all because of budget like that's how expensive it is for them to do ghostwriter
03:46effects agents of shield way around the problem was to only have ghostwriter going to ghostwriter
03:51form uses powers every once in a while as opposed like every single episode in a 20
03:57episode series when you talk about the ghostwriter movies are talking about like a two hour two
04:01hour plus movie and he's only in ghostwriter form for like half of that.
04:04So like an hour that you have to deal with the budget is the same reason why Marvel doesn't
04:09have Hulk show up in Hulk form on every single TV show and be in Hulk form during that entire
04:14run is the reason why the shield TV series cost more to make than Deadpool and Wolverine
04:19legit that is one of the first reasons why it was canceled.
04:22Not the only reason, but probably the biggest reason I will answer your questions, but you
04:27must first transform back to Jennifer why you are very expensive.
04:32I think they spent upwards of like $225 million making she hope Deadpool and Wolverine's budget
04:38was closer to like $200 million.
04:40So you just think about that for a second like how big Deadpool and Wolverine felt still
04:44cost them more to have somebody walk around in Hulk form for eight episodes that was even
04:50a deleted joke scene on she hope about this whole phenomenon where you have she hope hugging
04:55Hulk hugging the abomination all in Hulk form that they called the most expensive hug in
05:00TV history and that is correct like that would've been a crazy expensive scene to actually do
05:05it's the same situation for ghostwriter which is why you don't see ghostwriter all over
05:09the place right now the way the head of Marvel TV was talking he made it sound like ghostwriter
05:14would be something that they do in the future meeting the not actually filming a ghostwriter
05:17series secretly behind the scenes or anything like that like no one's actually been cast
05:21as Danny catch ghostwriter right now based on all the other ghostwriter related stuff
05:25we know they're doing in the next few years and the stuff they tried to do during Deadpool
05:29and Wolverine based on deleted scenes.
05:31It sounds like their Danny catch plans for ghostwriter wouldn't be till after secret
05:35wars all because Nicholas cages version of Johnny blaze is supposed to return in secret
05:41wars.
05:42So the mostly focused on that version of ghostwriter short-term.
05:46In fact, there was a deleted scene from Deadpool and Wolverine featuring his ghostwriter fighting
05:50is part of that resistance team against the Deadpool core.
05:54The whole idea is that in the early version the movie Johnny blaze was supposed to be
05:58on that team notice you also can see Ben Affleck's daredevil also fighting in this
06:02deleted scene against the Deadpool core like he was also supposed to be in the movie for
06:06a little while the way the Ryan Reynolds explained it because there were a lot of people that
06:09did not show up in Deadpool and Wolverine like they made magneto references they make
06:13Quicksilver references there were a bunch of references the other X-Men characters like
06:17beast storm Cyclops.
06:19How come they weren't in the movie Ryan Reynolds explained in is the same situation with ghostwriter
06:24coming back.
06:25It's all about budget.
06:26That's why he made the Chris Evans joke when he was killed during the movie.
06:29Do you know what he was doing to the budget of this film is actually in Ryan Reynolds
06:33own words he said that because they were doing the movie as rated R he wanted to keep the
06:37budget as low as possible.
06:39Now for him that meant close to $200 million.
06:41I wouldn't exactly call that low budget, but it sounds like Marvel took his idea bringing
06:46back Nicholas cages ghostwriter for crossover and opted to save it for secret wars where
06:50they know they're spending way more money on the budget.
06:53So at least for right now Marvel just mostly focused on paying off Nicholas cages ghostwriter
06:57giving him a big avengers endgame kind of going out moment with the other classic Fox
07:02Marvel characters that didn't already come back in Deadpool and Wolverine and other pre
07:06MCU Marvel characters from other studios.
07:09For example, Nicholas cages ghostwriter is actually a Sony movie Tobey Maguire Andrew
07:13Garfield also from the Sony verse.
07:15So to speak like their own universes supposedly coming back in secret wars.
07:19So that's why they be waiting till after secret wars do like a totally different version of
07:23ghostwriter they never done before and that's the other reason why Brad Winterbaum here
07:28head of Marvel TV was talking about doing Danny catch specifically of all the different
07:31versions of ghostwriter he could possibly do both because he is personally a fan of
07:36Danny catches run as ghostwriter and that second Nicholas cage movie introduced Danny
07:40catch as a child.
07:42This is open territory to actually do him as an adult they don't have to bring back
07:46that specific version of Danny catch, but they can just say that they set it up but
07:50have not actually done a legit version of Danny catch adult run in the comics which
07:55is what everybody thinks of when they say they're doing a Danny catch ghostwriter like
07:59adult Danny catch.
08:01There were some references to Danny catch during agents of shield when they did Robbie
08:04Reyes origin story when he tells the story of how he became ghostwriter and got the spirit
08:09of vengeance.
08:10He talks about a mystery writer who found him when he was dying made the bargain that
08:14all ghostwriters make to become the spirit of vengeance without realizing what he was
08:18agreeing to and then got the power and that's the last you see of that quote-unquote mystery
08:23writer the mystery writer was meant to be Danny catch because they were trying to be
08:27comic accurate to the progression of ghostwriter in the comics.
08:30It went Johnny blaze then Danny catch became the spirit of vengeance and then Robbie Reyes
08:35did there been many ghostwriters across history though they get into the lineage of the spirits
08:39of vengeance in the Nicholas cage movies.
08:42The original ghostwriter is supposed to be from avengers 1 million BC stories.
08:46He was just a regular caveman who became the spirit of vengeance there also wilder
08:50versions of ghostwriter from like the distant future like punisher who becomes ghostwriter
08:55they call cosmic ghostwriter the actual ghostwriter TV series the got canceled.
09:00They were in the middle of making was for Gabriel Luna's Robbie Reyes character from
09:04agents of shield like it would've been his character just moving on to his own TV series
09:08which would've been on Hulu.
09:10This is him actually talking about he says I remember when I was pitching stuff I had
09:13a really awesome idea that would've kept Robbie in LA and would've pitted us against
09:17classic ghostwriter villains as it turns out one of those villains would've been Lilith
09:21marvel's mother of demons and would've been the main villain of an entire crossover defender
09:26style you might remember marvel talking about this before avengers endgame happen like it
09:31was a really big deal.
09:32They were going to do another defender style team up, but with supernatural characters
09:36it was gonna be ghostwriter hellstrom which we saw one season of I did like a couple hellstrom
09:41videos in two other unnamed TV series we have no idea what they were seeking theorycraft
09:46about that their big defender style team up crossover series was going to be called adventure
09:51into fear and like I said Lilith was going to be the main villain of that, but we've
09:55actually heard about them doing midnight suns Lilith is supposed to be the main villain
09:59of that she was also supposed to be played by Mia goth in versions of Mahershala Ali's
10:03blade movie.
10:04I don't know if she still in a version that movie.
10:07So there's like a lot of Lilith they've been trying to put in the movies recently the way
10:10the Gabriel Luna talks about this ghostwriter TV series is that they were in full pre-production
10:15as Disney was getting ready to be bought by Fox like it was all going down behind the
10:19scenes what wound up happening though is that they were about to film like day one.
10:23They were getting ready to roll cameras Kevin Feige canceled the TV series.
10:28The whole reason for that is they were doing this grand consolidation of marvel TV into
10:33marvel studios as avengers endgame was going down Kevin Feige became the head of all marvel
10:39TV previously wasn't Jeff Lowe brand marvel TV.
10:43They were completely separate divisions before avengers endgame that was why you like completely
10:47different people making agents of shield the other marvel TV series that were making the
10:52movies all that Kevin Feige and his team all the new TV series the Kevin Feige was in charge
10:57of the came out under marvel studios is all the Disney plus stuff like the Disney plus
11:01era is the Kevin Feige era of marvel TV and other lot of agents of shield fans out there
11:07that are still salty that they canceled that ghostwriter TV series was see the agents of
11:11shield characters come back.
11:12That's also one of the reasons why they canceled that TV series to is because they were consolidating
11:16everything under Kevin Feige at Disney Gabriel Luna has talked personally about wanting to
11:22come back like he'll come back any time they'll have him.
11:25But it does sound like they have some very specific plans short-term for ghostwriter
11:29before they start doing larger stuff in big TV series in the movies the way the Ryan Reynolds
11:34also explained it to is that when it came to doing like all these different versions
11:38of older characters from pre MCU days bringing them back for Deadpool and Wolverine.
11:43He said that when he was meeting with Kevin Feige asking for permission to use all these
11:46different characters like can I bring all these old people back because it be an awesome
11:50movie.
11:51There were a couple cases where Kevin Feige told him no, but not because he didn't want
11:56the characters in the movie.
11:57It was mostly because of legal problems in IP problems.
12:01Even though Marvel does have the rights to most of their characters when it comes to
12:04older characters like for instance Johnny blaze ghostwriter.
12:07I still think, for example, Sony has to get involved if you want to bring that movie version
12:12of that character back, but if Marvel wanted to do like a totally new version of ghostwriter
12:17in the movies they be fine to do that.
12:19It's one of those situations kind of like Marvel doing a solo Hulk movie where universal
12:24has like some of the rights for certain things, but they can use the Hulk in different ways
12:28in other movies and it gets really complicated behind the scenes.
12:32If you've ever wondered why Marvel doesn't do like the easy solution like how come they're
12:36not using this combination of characters that are way more popular in this way.
12:39A lot of times it's because of some crap legal issue that they have behind the scenes that's
12:44holding everything up.
12:45It's also reportedly one of the reasons why they're not doing an X-Men solo movie before
12:49secret wars I haven't seen any official language about this from Marvel like the very careful
12:54when they talk about the legal stuff going on behind the scenes, but I believe they had
12:58an issue with recasting some of the major X-Men characters before secret wars like there
13:03was certain time stamp on it before they could actually recast everyone.
13:07My assumption there was just some language built into some of the old X-Men character
13:10contracts that said that they could not be recast until a certain date when it comes
13:15to people like Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.
13:17He also that similar contract, but also be so popular.
13:20They're gonna make him do this until he's in his 90s like that Deadpool and Wolverine
13:24joke that's kind of a special case though.
13:26Marvel does want to recast pretty much all the X-Men characters when it comes to Hugh
13:31Jackman's Wolverine the probably just wait to recast a version of Wolverine like introduce
13:35a new MCU Wolverine for many years, but eventually they will do that like Hugh Jackman isn't
13:40gonna get super ripped into that crazy workout routine till he's 90 years old.
13:45That was why Ryan Reynolds was also joking about not wanting to do Deadpool for eventually
13:50they probably will do Deadpool for like he'll come back as Deadpool and other people's movies,
13:54but not nearly as big as a full Deadpool movie all because doing all the stunts the
13:59said all these years, even though Ryan Reynolds pretty young person said that he's destroyed
14:03his body by doing a lot of those stunts is sort of like professional wrestlers or NFL
14:08linebackers destroying their bodies when they're really young, but everyone let me know in
14:13the comments if Marvel is working on a Danny catch ghostwriter TV series at some point
14:17after secret wars.
14:18What do you want them to do with that series and where else do you want to see ghostwriter
14:22show up inside the MCU TV shows or movies personally if they were going to be doing
14:27ghostwriter I was not expecting Danny catch I would just expect them to reboot and go
14:31with the version of Johnny blaze and go from there, but I will take whichever version of
14:35ghostwriter they want to give us like just give us more some of these big characters
14:38like I said there is a reason why they waited so long to introduce some of these big ones
14:42one of them is budget.
14:44The other is legal problems.
14:46If we do see any more Easter eggs for like Mephisto ghostwriter any the related ghostwriter
