US Government Prepares To Resume Shipping Free COVID-19 Tests In September

The US government is set to resume shipping free at-home COVID-19 tests as the fall season begins and a new COVID-19 variant spreads. US households can order four free test kits through the COVIDTests.gov website. Orders are expected to start in late September 2024, though no official launch date has been announced. Assistant Secretary Dawn O'Connell emphasized the importance of having tests available as families gather indoors this fall.
