Christmas is now three months away and already some supermarkets are stocking mince pies, Christmas decorations and stocking fillings.

We went out into Manchester to ask people on the street if they were ready for festivities or if they thought that it’s all a bit early.

00:00Yeah, nothing starts until September 1st.
00:03Hi, I'm Theo with Manchester World.
00:04Today I'm out on the streets of Manchester asking people about Christmas.
00:07And that's because it's just around 100 days away now,
00:09but already some supermarkets are stocking little mince pies,
00:12maybe some Christmas decorations, on their shelves.
00:14So we want to know if people have started their Christmas shopping already,
00:17whether it's too early,
00:18and whether supermarkets should really be stocking mince pies and stocking fillers
00:22before Halloween's even over.
00:24Christmas does not start until September 1st, in my opinion.
00:26It's way too soon.
00:27We've got September.
00:29There's two holidays I enjoy.
00:30There's Bonfire Night and Halloween.
00:32I need to get those out of the way first.
00:34I think it's a little too early to be doing anything like that.
00:37I've certainly not started thinking about Christmas,
00:40given it's not, well, given it's not even October yet, is it?
00:43Yeah, it's not September.
00:45I've definitely thought about saving for Christmas already.
00:49I've got a big family and I think it's gift giving,
00:52but otherwise, it's a bit too early.
00:55Yeah, a little too early.
00:56I feel like societies keep encroaching further and further into summer.
