00:00Namaskar! Welcome you all once again to Bhakti Gyan Channel.
00:10Today we will listen to the story of Jivit Putrika i.e. Jitiya.
00:15Mothers observe Jivit Putrika for the long life of their children.
00:21It is believed that by observing this vow, all the problems of the child are resolved.
00:28This Mahaparva starts from the 7th day of Krishna Paksha in the month of Ashwin.
00:33In this, mothers observe the 8th day of Krishna Paksha and complete the 9th day of Krishna Paksha.
00:39During this vow, stories are told.
00:42They are like this.
00:43So, let us listen to the story of Sukhiya and Dukhiya of Jivit Putrika.
00:48According to this story, there were two sisters.
00:51One's name was Sukhiya and the other's name was Dukhiya.
00:55Just like their names, they were also fortunate.
00:59Sukhiya was rich and she was always happy.
01:04Dukhiya was poor and she was always sad.
01:09Both the sisters lived in the same village.
01:12Dukhiya used to work in Sukhiya's house.
01:15She used to clean and cook food.
01:17She used to give the leftover food to Dukhiya.
01:23This is how Dukhiya's house used to run.
01:25Time passed.
01:27Both the sisters had two sons.
01:30That is, Sukhiya's two sons and Dukhiya's two sons.
01:34When Jitiya's vow came,
01:35both the sisters kept Jitiya's vow as usual.
01:39That day, Dukhiya went to Sukhiya's house to work.
01:43On the day of the vow, Dukhiya tore and cleaned Sukhiya's house.
01:48She kept the leftover rice and lent it to Sukhiya.
01:54Then she picked a saag.
01:56She separated the leaves from the stalk.
01:59She kept the saag for Sukhiya.
02:03She kept the leftover stalk for herself.
02:07Now, Dukhiya cooked food at Sukhiya's house
02:11and brought the leftover rice and the stalk of saag.
02:15She cooked food with the leftover rice and the stalk of saag
02:19and fed it to her children and herself.
02:23After this, Dukhiya went to sleep.
02:25It was midnight.
02:27An old woman came and knocked on the door of her house.
02:32Dukhiya asked,
02:33Who is it? Who are you?
02:36Then the old woman said,
02:38Son, it's me.
02:40Dukhiya got up, opened the door and said,
02:43Mother, what do you want?
02:45For whom did you come here so late at night?
02:48Then the old woman said,
02:50Daughter, I am very hungry.
02:52Give me something to eat.
02:54Dukhiya took the old woman inside the house and said,
02:59We are very poor.
03:01Today I have cooked the leftover rice and the stalk of saag.
03:05Will you eat it?
03:07Then the old woman said,
03:08Yes, why not?
03:10I am hungry.
03:12I will eat that.
03:13Dukhiya gave the old woman food.
03:17The old woman said after eating,
03:20I can't see anything clearly.
03:24In this case, how will I go to my house in the dark of the night?
03:28Dukhiya said,
03:29It's okay, mother.
03:31You sleep here.
03:33Go to your house in the morning.
03:36Then the old woman slept at Dukhiya's house at night.
03:40After a while, the old woman got up and said,
03:43Daughter, I am very hungry.
03:45I have cooked the leftover rice.
03:47Where should I go?
03:48Dukhiya said,
03:49There is no toilet in my house.
03:52So, you sleep in that corner.
03:55Then the old woman asked,
03:57Daughter, should I make noise or make noise?
04:00Dukhiya was asleep.
04:02So, in his sleep he said,
04:03Make noise.
04:05I will clean it in the morning.
04:07After a while,
04:08the old woman said,
04:10Daughter, where should I clean my hands?
04:13Dukhiya said,
04:15You clean your hands on my head.
04:18When Dukhiya wakes up in the morning,
04:21he feels that all this is like a dream.
04:24She goes to take a bath in the river.
04:27And when she washes her hair in the river,
04:31the water that flows from her hair is the water of gold.
04:36All the women around are surprised to see this.
04:40And they say to Dukhiya,
04:42What is the matter?
04:43The water of gold is flowing from your hair.
04:46After listening to all this,
04:48she remembers what happened last night.
04:50And she runs towards her house.
04:54And thinking that her house was dirtier than the old woman's house,
04:59first she should clean it.
05:01But when she goes to her house,
05:03she sees that there is a lot of gold scattered in every corner of the house.
05:08Seeing all this, Dukhiya becomes very happy.
05:12And she thinks that all this happened by the grace of Jeetmaan Baba,
05:16that is, by the grace of Jeemootmahan,
05:18who came to my house as an old woman
05:22and gave me so many blessings.
05:25Now Dukhiya also became rich.
05:27And she stopped going to Sukhiya's house and working.
05:31After completing her fast, Dukhiya says to her son,
05:36Go and get a scale from your aunt's house.
05:40I want to measure this gold.
05:42How much is it?
05:43The child happily goes to his aunt's house and asks for the scale.
05:47Sukhiya asks him,
05:49What is to be measured in the scale?
05:51The child tells him because he is innocent.
05:54There is a lot of gold in my house.
05:56The mother has to measure it.
05:58Sukhiya tells the child,
06:00You don't have anything to eat.
06:03And you will measure gold in it.
06:05You are lying to me.
06:07Then the child says,
06:08I am not lying.
06:10Then Sukhiya thinks,
06:12If she has asked for a scale, she will definitely measure something.
06:15That's why she puts a ball under the scale.
06:18And she thinks,
06:20Whatever she measures,
06:21it will stick to this scale.
06:23Dukhiya measured gold on the scale.
06:26So a piece of gold stuck to that scale.
06:29When the child came to return the scale,
06:32Sukhiya turned the scale upside down and saw
06:35what was stuck in the ball behind the scale.
06:39She saw,
06:40This is gold.
06:42Seeing this, Sukhiya started thinking,
06:44Where did the gold come from in Dukhiya's house?
06:47That's why it hasn't been useful for many days.
06:51Sukhiya goes to Dukhiya's house and sees that there is a lot of gold there.
06:56And when she asks Dukhiya,
06:59Where did you get so much gold?
07:02To measure it,
07:04you asked for a scale.
07:06Dukhiya was honest and innocent.
07:08That's why she told everything to her sister Sukhiya that night.
07:13But Sukhiya was greedy.
07:16And she was jealous.
07:18That Dukhiya got more money than us.
07:21Now, in the next Jitiya,
07:23I will also make rice and lentil soup.
07:27Then next year,
07:29both the sisters kept Jitiya's fast.
07:31Sukhiya had all kinds of happiness and wealth.
07:36Despite this,
07:37on Jitiya's day, she cleans the rice,
07:40throws the rice,
07:42and keeps the mortar with her.
07:44And after breaking the leaves,
07:46she also keeps the stalk with her.
07:48And she makes it.
07:50Sukhiya goes to sleep after worshipping and eating.
07:54In the middle of the night,
07:55an old woman comes to her house.
07:58Sukhiya was waiting for her.
08:02She opened the door immediately
08:04and took that old woman inside her house.
08:08The old woman said,
08:09I am very hungry.
08:11Give me something to eat.
08:13On this, Sukhiya said,
08:15I have made rice and lentil soup.
08:19So, should I give you that?
08:20The old woman said,
08:22No problem.
08:23Give me that.
08:24I will eat.
08:25Sukhiya served that food to the old woman
08:29and went to sleep.
08:31After a while,
08:32the old woman said to her,
08:34I cannot see at night.
08:37How can I go home?
08:38So, she said,
08:40You sleep here.
08:41The old woman said after a while,
08:44I have to do the laundry.
08:45Where should I do it?
08:47So, Sukhiya said,
08:48Do it in that corner.
08:50After this, the old woman said,
08:53Should I make noise or make noise?
08:55Sukhiya did not remember
08:57what Dukhiya had told her.
08:59So, she said,
09:01Make noise.
09:02The old woman said,
09:04Where should I wash my hands?
09:06On this, Sukhiya said,
09:08Wash your hands on my head.
09:10When Sukhiya wakes up in the morning,
09:12there is a lot of dirt in the house.
09:15Apart from this,
09:16there was also dirt in her hair.
09:19Seeing this, Sukhiya becomes very sad
09:22and she gets very angry with her sister.
09:25Sukhiya gets angry and calls her sister Dukhiya
09:28and says,
09:29You had lied to me.
09:32You made my entire house dirty.
09:34What did you say?
09:36Make noise or make noise?
09:37So, Sukhiya said,
09:39I said make noise.
09:41Hearing this, Dukhiya said,
09:43You made a mistake here.
09:45You had everything.
09:47There was no shortage of anything.
09:49Still, you were greedy.
09:51The cattle came to your house in disguise.
09:55Still, you did not serve them good food.
09:58I did not have anything.
10:00So, I gave them rice and lentils.
10:04But you insulted the God who came to your house.
10:08You were greedy even though you had everything.
10:13So, you were harmed.
10:15So, this was the story of Sukhiya and Dukhiya's
10:18living daughter.
10:20Let's listen to the next story.
10:22Gandharva's prince's name was Jimutwahan.
10:26He was very generous and helpful.
10:28Jimutwahan's father made him sit on the throne
10:31while going to the Vanprastha Ashram during his old age.
10:36But he did not want to be a king.
10:40Leaving the burden of the kingdom on his brothers,
10:43he went to the forest to serve his father.
10:47In the forest, he met a princess named Mallavati.
10:52They fell in love.
10:54One day, while strolling in the forest,
10:57Jimutwahan went ahead.
11:00Then he saw an old woman crying.
11:04When he asked her,
11:05the old woman cried and said,
11:08I am a woman of the Naga clan.
11:10I have only one son.
11:12To free me from the anger of the king of birds,
11:16the Nagas have arranged that
11:18they give a young snake to Garuda every day for food.
11:23Today is the day of the sacrifice of my son, Shankhchud.
11:27Today is the day of the sacrifice of my son, Shankhchud.
11:29Today is the day of the sacrifice of my son, Shankhchud.
11:33For a mother, what could be more painful
11:36than not having her son while she is alive?
11:40Jimutwahan was very sad to hear this.
11:43He said,
11:46Don't be afraid.
11:47I will protect your son's life.
11:50Today, I will cover myself with a red cloth
11:53and lie down on the Vadhyashila
11:56instead of him.
11:58So that Garuda eats me
12:00and your son is saved.
12:02Saying this,
12:03Jimutwahan took the red cloth from Shankhchud's hand.
12:07And he wrapped it and went to the Vadhyashila
12:11where he was chosen.
12:14At the right time, Garuda came in a hurry.
12:17And he took Jimutwahan,
12:21who was covered in red cloth,
12:22to the top of the mountain.
12:24Garuda struck his hard beak
12:28and tore a large part of the flesh
12:30from the body of Jimutwahan.
12:32Tears flowed from the eyes of Jimutwahan
12:35due to his pain.
12:37And he began to cry in pain.
12:40Hearing the cries of tears and mouth
12:43from the eyes of the creature
12:45in his hand, Garuda was very surprised
12:47because this had never happened before.
12:50He asked Jimutwahan about him.
12:54Jimutwahan told him the whole story
12:57that how he has come to give his life
13:00to protect the son of a woman.
13:02He said,
13:03You eat me and satisfy your hunger.
13:06Garuda was very impressed
13:10by the courage to sacrifice himself
13:12for his bravery and the protection of others.
13:14He began to regret himself.
13:17He started thinking that there is one man
13:20who is sacrificing himself
13:23for the protection of another's son.
13:24And there is me who is in the protection of the Gods.
13:28But I am sacrificing the children of others.
13:31He freed Jimutwahan.
13:35Garuda said,
13:36O great man!
13:38I am very happy with your feelings and sacrifice.
13:41The wounds I have inflicted on your body
13:44should be healed immediately.
13:46You can ask me for a boon for your happiness.
13:50King Jimutwahan said,
13:52O king of birds!
13:53You are very strong.
13:55If you are happy,
13:57you want to give me a boon.
13:59So, stop feeding the snakes.
14:02Give life to all the lives you have taken so far.
14:07Garuda gave life to everyone
14:10and also gave a boon not to take the sacrifice of the snakes.
14:14In this way,
14:14with the courage of Jimutwahan,
14:16the snake race was protected.
14:18Garuda said,
14:20It will happen as you wish.
14:23O king!
14:24The woman who listens to the story of your sacrifice
14:27and performs the fast according to the ritual,
14:29her child will come out of the mouth of death.
14:33Since then,
14:34the ritual of Jimutwahan started for the protection of the son.
14:39This story was narrated by Lord Shankar on Mount Kailash
14:42to Mother Parvati.
14:44On the day of Jivitputrika,
14:46after the worship of Lord Ganesh, Mother Parvati and Lord Shiva,
14:50one should listen to the story of the fast.
14:52So, this was the story of Jivitputrika.
