00:00Hi, I'm Theo with Manchester World and welcome to the Museum of Illusions.
00:05Hello and welcome to Manchester World and welcome to the Museum of Illusions,
00:09which is Manchester's next big exciting venue.
00:12Me and Sophia were lucky enough to be allowed in before opening to try everything out
00:16and the range of options that they've got to try out is top, top tier.
00:20From the kaleidoscope here, to the Alan Turing eyes, which follow you around,
00:24to the Ames room, which allowed Sophia to live out her fantasy of being eight feet tall
00:28before immediately being shrunk back down.
00:30One of the great things is that it's a really accessible place,
00:32so they have screens where they can show you example poses,
00:35they can talk you through how the illusion works.
00:37One of my favourites was the symmetry room here,
00:40where essentially you utilise a mirror to try and make yourself look all silly,
00:43which I managed to do easily, obviously.
00:46And then the tilted room where you can bring out your best smooth criminal impression
00:49and try and get as wonky as you can.
00:54Then they've got great little games like this which are perfect for kids,
00:56where essentially you move the piece around and try and figure out what it matches with.
01:01You've also got great rooms like this which are perfect for Instagram,
01:04so much better for slightly older people too.
01:08And again, I mean this is a perfect example of how it can just send your head completely.
01:12Sophia here dangling off a wall and then...
01:16So this is the vortex tunnel which is spinning
01:19and the idea is that it makes you believe that the um...
01:22Don't laugh at me.
01:25It makes you feel like the whole world's spinning
01:28and you can't help but like bump yourself off the walls.
01:32So the museum itself opens on the 27th of September, which is this Friday.
01:36We're really thankful that they let us in early to do a little bit of filming around the place
01:40and it really was a great time.
01:42There's rooms like this where there's activities for kids.
01:44Sophia got bored at this point and started playing cards with herself six times
01:48and then hopped on this massive chair,
01:49which isn't actually a massive chair,
01:51so yeah, that's all we've got for you
01:52and even on the way out there's a little bit of an illusion to keep your mind busy.
