00:03She had fallen into the water pit while foraging in a nature reserve in southwest China's Yunnan province.
00:09Hours passed as she struggled to escape, but every attempt was in vain.
00:14She couldn't get out of the pit on her own and was facing a life-threatening crisis.
00:19It was then that local elephant observers spotted the trapped animal.
00:23A rescue team was quickly assembled and an excavator was used to dig out the pit.
00:27In just 10 minutes, a gap was created giving the terrified tusker a way out.
00:32With one last effort, the exhausted Pakiderm climbed out of the pit.
00:37For a brief moment, she gazed at her rescuers as if in silent gratitude.
00:41After her release, the rescue team conducted a 30-minute follow-up to ensure she was in good health.
