00:00A 70-mile-wide asteroid called Matilda is approaching Earth, so all the world's governments
00:04send a spaceship to try to destroy it.
00:06Unfortunately the spaceship explodes as soon as it enters the asteroid field, which means
00:10humanity is doomed.
00:12In three weeks the asteroid will hit Earth and all life will end.
00:15Married couple Dodge and Linda hear the news on their car radio, however Dodge doesn't
00:19react, he just mentions they missed their exit.
00:21Linda can't take his attitude anymore and abandons him for good.
00:24Afterward people all over the planet start making end-of-the-world plans, especially
00:28going through their bucket lists.
00:29Friends appear on the street offering services like naughty meetings, searching for friends
00:33to spend the end together, and mercenaries even offer to kill whoever isn't strong enough
00:37to make it to the last day.
00:38However Dodge doesn't have anything in life, so he continues to go through his boring routine.
00:43With 21 days left, Dodge still goes to the gym, which is mostly empty.
00:47On the TV he watches a news update informing that all cell phone services are dead and
00:51that water and power will follow soon.
00:53Then Dodge drives to work and has to deal with worse traffic than usual because everyone
00:56is trying to escape the city to go somewhere nice.
00:59At the office, Dodge notices only a few workers have come today.
01:03He keeps on picking up calls from clients who want to know if there's insurance for
01:05worldwide catastrophes and attends meetings that announce there are promotions available
01:09for everyone because of all the people who aren't coming anymore.
01:12However nobody from their little group takes the offer.
01:15When Dodge goes home, he checks his mailbox but it's empty as usual.
01:18He also notices his neighbor Penny run out of her apartment after breaking up with her
01:21boyfriend Owen, who is yelling at her.
01:24Then Dodge enters his apartment and finds his weekly cleaner Elsa.
01:27Dodge tries telling her that isn't necessary for her to come again because of the current
01:30situation, but Elsa gets upset because she thinks he's firing her, so he takes it back
01:34and she says goodbye while promising to return next week.
01:37Then Dodge drinks cough syrup and watches TV, learning that the final flight has taken
01:41off and now airlines aren't working anymore.
01:43People with private planes can fly if they want, but experts don't recommend it because
01:47of the risks.
01:48Before going to bed, Dodge finds a spider in the bathroom and gets ready to kill it,
01:52but in the end he decides to let it live.
01:54That night, the spider walks all over his face.
01:57The next morning, Dodge wakes up with multiple spider bites on his face.
02:00When he arrives at work, the body of a co-worker who just self-deleted lands on his car, leaving
02:05him shaken.
02:06A week passes and with only 14 days left, Dodge goes to an end of the world party thrown
02:10by his friend Diane.
02:12She has a teenage boy who insults his parents before leaving and they just insult him back,
02:16not caring anymore.
02:17Her husband is finally taking out his very exclusive cigarettes and promises to share
02:20one with Dodge while Diane comments that she isn't surprised that Linda left him because
02:24she was never happy with him.
02:26This leaves Dodge in shock because he honestly never noticed.
02:29Diane insists on setting Dodge up with someone because he shouldn't die alone, and when Dodge
02:33refuses, her husband points out he won't die alone because the whole world is dying together.
02:38When the party begins, Diane still introduces Dodge to Karen, who is put on all the fancy
02:42things she rarely got to wear.
02:44She tries to make conversation with him, but it's very awkward and Dodge doesn't know what
02:47to say.
02:48During dinner, people share their plans for their last days, like visiting their family
02:52or doing things from their bucket lists.
02:54Karen says she wants to spend them with someone special while making flirty faces at Dodge.
02:58After dinner is over, the party truly begins and gets so wild that people are even allowing
03:02the children to drink.
03:04Karen dances while still flirting with Dodge, who tries his best to ignore her.
03:08A friend tells Dodge that because of the incoming end, women have no standards and every man
03:11has a chance no matter how ugly they are.
03:14He reveals he was intimate with tons of women last week, and asks Dodge to team up with
03:18him to sandwich Karen, but Dodge turns him down.
03:21During the fireworks an illegal uppers come out and Dodge can't take it anymore, so he
03:24hides in the bathroom.
03:26When Diane comes to check on him, she shocks him by trying to kiss him.
03:29Dodge immediately turns her down and reminds her that she's married, but Diane explains
03:33nobody cares about that anymore.
03:35Tired, Dodge decides to go home early and think about his old life.
03:38While looking at a picture of his high school sweetheart Olivia, he starts to play the harmonica,
03:42only to stop when he hears a woman crying on the fire escape.
03:45Dodge checks on her and discovers it's Penny, who immediately hugs him as she cries her
03:49lungs out.
03:50She missed the last flight to the UK, and now she won't be able to be with her family
03:54during the end.
03:55Feeling bad, Dodge invites her in and shares his cough syrup, which has been mixed with
03:59vodka.
04:00In return Penny offers some pot, which he turns down.
04:03Penny explains smoking is the only thing that helps her both sleep and wake up because she
04:06suffers from hypersomnia, which means she can sleep through everything even the apocalypse.
04:10Then the duo watches TV together and falls asleep on the couch.
04:13The next day, Penny continues to sleep no matter how loud the TV is or if Elsa is vacuuming
04:18right next to her.
04:19Dodge pinches her nose and nothing happens, so he plays the harmonica instead.
04:23This finally wakes her up and she announces she's finally ready to go to her apartment.
04:27They go downstairs and Penny brings Dodge a pile of mail, explaining that the mailman
04:31always sent Dodge's things to her mailbox by mistake.
04:34This has been happening for years and she's been saving it all, but she never saw him
04:37around to give it to him.
04:38The only person she knew is Linda, who Penny thinks was Dodge's roommate because she always
04:42saw her very happy with a boyfriend.
04:44Dodge is shocked to realize Linda had been cheating on him, so he goes back to his apartment
04:48and furiously destroys all of Linda's belongings, feeling like a complete idiot.
04:52Then he buys a bottle of blue liquid and goes to the park, where he sees a couple of teenagers
04:56kissing and yells to scare them away before drinking until he passes out.
04:59His plan to self-delete fails and he wakes up perfectly healthy the next morning, only
05:03to find an abandoned dog tied to him and a note that says sorry.
05:06With only 12 days left, Dodge takes the dog and starts making his way home.
05:10As he walks through the city, he notices people have finally gotten violent, meaning there
05:14are fights, fires, and looting everywhere.
05:17Later at his apartment, Dodge feeds the dog and watches the news, learning that riots
05:21are happening in many areas.
05:22He also starts going through his old mail and is shocked to find a letter from Olivia
05:25from months ago.
05:27She explains she never stopped thinking about him and wanted to check on him, but she also
05:30tells him not to find her because it's too late for them.
05:33Her last line says he was the love of her life.
05:36Suddenly a brick breaks through his window and the alarms in the building go off as the
05:38riots come closer.
05:40There already are violent people in the hallway, so Dodge takes the dog, the harmonica, and
05:45the letter before going out through the fire escape.
05:47He goes to Penny's apartment and meets Owen, who assumes Penny has been cheating with him
05:51and punches the wall, breaking his hand.
05:53Dodge ignores him and goes to wake up Penny, only for Owen to immediately start arguing
05:57with her.
05:58When Dodge finally gets to mention the riots, Penny stops to grab as many records from her
06:01collection as possible.
06:03Then the trio runs out of the building and Penny volunteers to drive, but she's forgotten
06:07where she left her car.
06:08At that moment some people open fire, so Owen uses Penny as a shield to protect himself.
06:13When they finally find her car, Penny has trouble driving away because she isn't very
06:16good at parallel parking.
06:18Owen leaves the car to guide her, however he keeps insulting her, making it clear why
06:22she broke up with him.
06:23Tired of dealing with the couple's arguments, Dodge tells Penny he knows someone with a
06:27plane and he'll introduce that person to Penny if she takes him out of there.
06:30Motivated, Penny finally takes the car out and drives away, leaving Owen behind.
06:35Unfortunately the next day they already run out of gas because Penny didn't fill up the
06:38tank.
06:39As they walk down the road, Penny tries to stay positive, causing Dodge to finally snap.
06:43He tells her she ruined his life because he didn't get Olivia's letter in time, and who
06:47knows where she may be now.
06:49Feeling incredibly guilty, Penny promises to reunite Dodge with his lost love.
06:53Then Penny starts hitchhiking and a man Glenn agrees to give them a ride.
06:56As they travel together, Penny tells Glenn to share his life story, and he starts from
07:00his dad's childhood.
07:02Dodge hates every second of it, especially when Glenn confesses doctor had told him he
07:05only had six weeks to live right before the end of the world was announced.
07:09Glenn lost his love a few years ago and after learning about the end he started considering
07:12self-deleting, but that wouldn't get him into heaven.
07:15His tone makes Dodge very suspicious, especially when he sees digging equipment in the back
07:19of the truck.
07:20Eventually Glenn stops the truck and says he'll go relieve himself, inviting Dodge to
07:23come along.
07:25Getting more suspicious, Dodge turns him down and as soon as Glenn is gone, he tells Penny
07:29they may be traveling with a psycho.
07:31Penny doesn't take him seriously and leaves the truck to walk the dog, who also needs
07:34to pee.
07:35Then Glenn comes back and asks Dodge to drop the mask, saying Dodge's blank face proves
07:39he's a killer.
07:40Dodge denies such a theory and Glenn apologizes for the misunderstanding, explaining he hired
07:45a mercenary to end things for him.
07:47As he laughs, Glenn suddenly is shot, and Dodge sees the mercenary drive away.
07:51Afterward Dodge and Penny bury Glenn's body with his own equipment and leave in his truck.
07:55Eventually they find a restaurant called Frenzy's by the road and decide to stop for a drink.
07:59The waiter receives them with hugs and confesses all the workers have been smoking, so now
08:03they're making up all kinds of crazy recipes.
08:06Penny and Dodge stick to the classics, getting some food for the dog too, and Penny even
08:10joins the conga line.
08:11While they eat, they share more about their old lives, but they're suddenly interrupted
08:15with a surprise.
08:16Penny told the waiters that it's Dodge's birthday so they bring over a little cake and a song.
08:20Suddenly a waitress kisses both of them and soon the party starts getting naughty, so
08:23the duo takes the dog and leave.
08:25In the truck, they notice a certain tension between them and end up doing the dirty together.
08:30Later Dodge feels guilty because of their age difference makes him feel like he took
08:33advantage, but Penny reminds him she's an adult who made a choice.
08:36Suddenly they hear sirens and are shocked to see a cop trying to pull them over.
08:40Penny wants to keep on driving because the law doesn't matter anymore, but Dodge doesn't
08:44want trouble and forces her to stop.
08:46Since she's smoking, Dodge takes her cigarette and hides it in his mouth, only to accidentally
08:50inhale some smoke.
08:51The cop comes over and lists all the things they're doing wrong, so Penny points out it's
08:55pointless.
08:56However the cop doesn't care and arrests them anyway.
08:58In jail, the duo finds a guy who was arrested for disturbing the peace with his the end
09:02is here sign.
09:03Penny has a breakdown because she's failing her promise, so Dodge hugs her through the
09:07bars and explains she didn't ruin his life because he already did that to himself a long
09:10time ago.
09:11As the cigarette finally starts kicking in, Dodge admits he has no family, his mother
09:15died of a terrible illness and his father left them.
09:18Then he plays the harmonica until they fall asleep.
09:21The next morning, a new cop arrives to take on his shift and immediately releases everyone.
09:25Unfortunately he can't return the truck because it got impounded, but he does offer a ride.
09:30Penny remembers an ex lives nearby so the cop drives them there.
09:33Dodge immediately gets jealous when he meets Speck, a former military man with a great
09:37body and his own bomb shelter, crowded with other military buddies.
09:40He's obviously still in love with Penny and offers her his satellite phone so Penny can
09:44finally call her family.
09:45She cries when she finally hears her parents and siblings' voices and even gets to listen
09:49to her baby niece for the first time.
09:51While she's busty, Speck tells Dodge that only Penny is allowed to stay in the shelter,
09:55not him.
09:56Afterward Penny asks Speck to lend her a car, refusing to stay.
10:00Speck agrees to do so but tells Penny to bring it back after she's done with her promise
10:03to Dodge.
10:04The duo continues to bond during their trip and eventually they make it to Olivia's childhood
10:08home, but nobody answers the door.
10:10Penny breaks the window to open the door and they find lots of food in the fridge, so they
10:13agree to spend the night there.
10:15Dodge finds a record player and Penny gets to listen to her old records while she cooks.
10:19When Dodge wakes up from a nap, he shares dinner with Penny and the dog, and Penny tells
10:23him more about her family, including the love for records she got from her dad.
10:27Then Penny checks a drawer and finds a letter from Olivia to her parents, which includes
10:31a return address.
10:32Dodge gets excited and they agree to go there the next day.
10:35That night, Dodge discovers Olivia wrote his name on her childhood bed, and Penny smiles
10:39at the old pictures of Dodge from an old yearbook.
10:41The next morning, they go to the address on the envelope and Dodge tells Penny to wait
10:45in the car.
10:46He goes to the house only to come back a few seconds later and drive away.
10:49Penny is confused as Dodge explains he didn't knock, he just left a letter.
10:53An argument ensues when Penny demands to know what has changed, causing Dodge to almost
10:57crash against a line of people.
10:59The duo leaves the car and follows the line to the local beach, where people are getting
11:02baptized.
11:04Finding the sight rather sweet, Dodge and Penny share a kiss and join the people on
11:07the beach, spending the day on a lovely picnic and befriending everyone.
11:11The dog gets to play with the locals as well.
11:13Dodge tries to teach Penny how to play the harmonica and she discovers it was a gift
11:16from his dad.
11:17Then the duo keeps on traveling and arrives at a house in the countryside.
11:21The guy with a plane is Frank, who happens to be Dodge's dad.
11:24Penny gives them some privacy and Frank tries to apologize to Dodge, who explains it doesn't
11:28matter anymore since the end is coming.
11:30However Frank still tries to be nice and the three of them spend a lovely dinner together,
11:34to the point where father and son play the harmonica together.
11:37Once Penny falls asleep, Dodge carries her to the plane and tells her she's the love
11:41of his life before Frank flies off to the UK.
11:44Afterward Dodge goes home with the dog.
11:46He finds a note from Karen and Elsa cleaning his apartment, so he finally snaps and tells
11:49her to spend the last days with her family.
11:52Elsa is hurt because she considers Dodge a friend to hang out with, so Dodge regrets
11:55it and tells her to come back next week as usual, although there won't be a next week
11:59at all.
12:00Sometime later, Dodge watches the final TV broadcast, during which the anchorman announces
12:04the calculations were wrong and the asteroid will arrive in 16 hours.
12:08The anchorman also offers a very heartful goodbye speech, and the signal is finally
12:12cut.
12:13Feeling sad, Dodge goes to Penny's apartment and begins listening to her records, remembering
12:16everything she taught him about them.
12:18He lies down on the floor and waits for the end, listening to music until the power goes
12:22out.
12:23Suddenly the dog starts barking and Dodge is shocked to discover Penny came back.
12:27She admits she woke up during the flight and made Frank take her back.
12:30After sharing a hug, they lie down on the bed together and confess their feelings for
12:33each other.
12:34To keep Penny awake and distracted from the explosions going off nearby, Dodge keeps talking
12:38to her and asking her questions about her old life.
12:41The couple stares into each other's eyes as the asteroid hits Earth, ending it all.
