It’s been two and a half years in the making and has involved hundreds of people. And it is now about to get its premiere, a special screening in Worthing essentially for cast and crew but to which members of the public are also welcome (tickets through the venue).

00:00Good afternoon, my name is Phil Hewitt, Group Arts Editor for Sussex Newspapers, lovely
00:06to speak to Oliver Hollingdale now. Exciting times, it's been two and a half years in the
00:10making, but Oliver, your film Gallowmere is about to be, well it's a kind of premiere
00:15isn't it, and it's a premiere in Worthing, and it's at the Dame Cinema on October the
00:2112th, did you say? That is correct, yes. So it's been a long journey, but Gallowmere
00:27must be chuffed, you're saying that you're proud of what you've achieved with this film?
00:31Oh yes, absolutely, I'm proud of everyone involved, it's been a long journey for two
00:39and a half years, from initial ideas to execution, yeah it's been a massive collaboration, everyone
00:45across the board that have been so patient with many talents, and yeah it's incredible that we've
00:51So what kind of film are you talking about then, what's it all about?
00:56So a fantasy epic, that's what we've created, and it's not an easy genre to tackle let's say,
01:05and again the story is a classic telling of good versus evil, our heroes in the movie,
01:12they are kind of enlisted to go and check out a darkness that has descended over this settlement
01:18called Gallowmere, and there's some kind of interesting developments as they investigate
01:23and unravel the story, but yes it's again a telling of friendship, of courage, stepping up
01:29to do the right thing against overwhelming odds, and overcoming the evil that's threatening the
01:34realm. It sounds intriguing, now the premiere is essentially for cast and crew and the company,
01:40isn't it? But you are inviting the public too, if they want to come along, and then after that
01:45what are you wanting to happen after that?
01:51Afterwards, obviously the sensible way is to hit the film festival circuit for next year,
01:58with a wonderful dream scenario where we have a distribution deal, that would be the ideal outcome
02:04of course, but yes the load is wrong and hard to go, but yes it's definitely a vision that we have.
02:12So obviously the focus now is getting the film out there, isn't it? But when do you,
02:16at what point do you start thinking about the next film?
02:22That's a very interesting conversation that many of the people involved in the film have gone,
02:26yes you know what, it'd be good to do another one, let's just go for it,
02:31enjoy this one, let's just focus on this one first, but we do have, it is a standalone film,
02:39but because again it is a sandbox world where it can go in so many different directions,
02:44we do have an outline for a next one, should we be in a very fortunate enough position
02:50to have a bigger budget to take that story into a new direction. So yes it's not a forced story,
02:56but we have other ways that we can step into it for sure.
02:59Fantastic, so the premiere October the 12th, Dome Cinema in Worthing,
03:04and good luck with it, hope it goes well.
03:07Yes, thank you very much, appreciate it.
