00:00live right here on the early line on sports grid. We will get
00:06to the final week of this MLB regular season in the actual
00:09game breakdowns that begin the penultimate second to last
00:13series of this regular year in MLB. Joe those teams hoping to
00:18get to the playoffs day number two of WNBA playoff action on
00:24this Tuesday, a double header of action in Las Vegas and in
00:28Brooklyn between the two teams that played in a WNBA
00:32championship set just a season ago. Let's start with the two
00:37time reigning WNBA champs looking to become the first
00:40team since the Houston Comets won the first four WNBA crowns
00:45in its league history back in 1997 through 2000 to win three
00:51in a row. The aces at home tonight on the strip at the
00:55Michelob Ultra Arena against Seattle. Just a seven and a
00:59half point favorite against the storm total at 158. Joe Las
01:03Vegas won game number 17867 covering as a nine and a half
01:07point home favorite total went under 161 and a half. We are
01:11seeing a three and a half point drop off from the pregame
01:14number on Sunday afternoon. Why did the total stay under
01:18Seattle scored not three not four not one but two two total
01:23points in the fourth quarter as the aces pulled away for that
01:2711 point victory. What do you think we see here in game two
01:31by the way best of three series in the opening round in the WNBA
01:36postseason. So this could be the series clincher for Vegas
01:39tonight. Yeah, and I guess experience does matter Ben
01:44right. It's what we've been harping on for a while now and
01:47not just in the WNBA, but didn't Seattle just blow their
01:52best shot at actually taking down the champs here. How in
01:56the world they didn't have their starting center. They
01:58were held to nine points in the first quarter. Asia Wilson
02:02missed her first. What seven of eight shots Kelsey Blum
02:06couldn't get water out of a boat. They were out rebounding.
02:09They took a lead into the fourth quarter and what happens
02:12man they lose by double digits. Why because the experience
02:16matters in the WNBA and Vegas proved that I think this is all
02:21but over at this point. I would completely agree with you
02:24Joe. I think Seattle had their best shot. I'm not sure why the
02:28line is working against Las Vegas. I'm trying to find one
02:31of my favorite player performance doubles of this
02:34year that they're not posting. It's really kind of rude. I
02:37wanted Asia Wilson to record a double double and Las Vegas to
02:41win because Asia Wilson's only minus 290 to record a double
02:45double unless my eyes are not seeing it. I do not see it
02:48posted yet on the FanDuel Sportsbook. She had a bad game
02:52by WNBA MVP standards Asia Wilson who was one two of those
02:57three trophies in the last three years. 21 points eight
03:00boards. It was really Tiffany Hayes off the bench for Las
03:04Vegas. That was their scoring and offensive spark plug. She
03:07had 20 points. Vegas scored nine in the opening quarter.
03:11Seattle only scored two in the fourth quarter and we're seeing
03:15the total drop by three and a half. Joe, it's been an
03:18interesting year for Las Vegas. The two-time reigning
03:21champs. The first team to win two in a row since the LA
03:24Sparks did so in 01 and 02. They were the heavy title
03:28favorites entering 2024. They had lost three straight four or
03:32five. They started six and six matching their overall loss
03:36total from a season ago when they were 34 and six. They
03:40still ended the year winning five straight games in the
03:42regular season and nine of the last ten. Las Vegas with that
03:46championship pedigree and the WNBA MVP and best player on
03:50planet Earth Asia Wilson rounding into that title form
03:54once again. But the favorites to win a WNBA title that would
03:58be the New York Liberty handling the Atlanta Dream on
04:01Sunday by fourteen in the opener even covering as a
04:04thirteen and a half point favorite. The Liberty led by
04:08eighteen points at the break and it was a little bit closer
04:11in the second half but still a comfortable win for the Liberty.
04:16Twelve and a half point spread for tonight. 156 and a half
04:20against Atlanta. I think the Liberty make it a sweep at only
04:23two games. Joe, what do you think for New York? Yeah, and
04:27they did it where I would a little bit of a new starting
04:30look there to the rotation and it actually worked out pretty
04:33well here. They listen. There is no reason to doubt the
04:37Liberty at all. There hasn't been all season long. I don't
04:41see any reason. Again, experience matters. They have
04:44plenty of it and they also have some amazing young players on
04:49this team. It just feels like they're going to steamroll
04:52their way to another championship possibility once
04:55again. Joe, Leone Phoebus was that new starter. She had a
05:00game high twenty-one points for New York on Sunday. Four for
05:04four from deep and Brianna Stewart still twenty points and
05:07eleven boards. I would keep an eye on the total tonight in
05:11Brooklyn. You saw there the Liberty the title favorites at
05:13this moment but the ace is a compelling plus 280 price at
05:19this moment.
