00:00We're going to start by talking about what makes me happy.
00:06The problems with the Philadelphia Eagles and how the media is now getting to Nick Sirianni
00:11and it only took two weeks.
00:12Well, yes, and I think what's happening, okay, I didn't know we're going to go with Sirianni,
00:16but let me start with that because I could give you some insight.
00:19So there's been this thought around the NFL that Nick Sirianni is the guy that keeps his
00:24emotions in check and doesn't always handle himself the right way or how other teams think
00:29he should handle himself.
00:30And I don't think there's some people around the league very sorry that he was lost on
00:34Monday night to the Falcons in Philly at Lincoln Financial Stadium, a stadium you've been into
00:38before.
00:39We've seen you there.
00:40But that's one thing.
00:41But the Eagles now with Jalen Hurts, Scott, I know that Hurts threw the ball to Saquon
00:46Barkley.
00:47Barkley dropped it.
00:48It should have been a touchdown.
00:50That's not why they lost.
00:52Jalen Hurts has this really bad habit going back to last season.
00:57When he's not under pressure sometimes, I don't know why he rolls to his right.
01:01He kills plays where the play should have been to a tight end, Dallas Scott or to a
01:07receiver, and he doesn't throw the football.
01:10He rolls to his right and waits and waits and waits, and he throws it in completion
01:13and the fans go, oh, that was a bad play, bad as I know.
01:17The quarterback has to stop moving when he's not supposed to move.
01:20The ball supposed to be out quickly and he doesn't do it.
01:23So this is a, you and I are going to talk about this from coast to coast, okay?
01:27The Eagles are what we call a national team.
01:29They're a marquee team.
01:30A lot has been expected of this team.
01:32Okay, I thought they'd be 11 and 6.
01:34They still have a very good shot to do it.
01:36That's a bad division, but Hurts has got to play better.
01:39The defense, we'll talk about them later in the show.
01:41We'll talk about it briefly right now.
01:43It didn't play well.
01:44Kirk Cousins, dude, Scott, you could have come out of retirement and got a touchdown
01:48late against that Eagles defense.
01:49They were terrible against Atlanta on that last drive.
01:52But Jalen Hurts has got to play better.
01:54When guys are open, he's got to hit them.
01:56This is just not good quarterback play.
01:59He was better against Green Bay, but not great.
02:01Widely inconsistent last season.
02:04We got to look at it.
02:05The Eagles have a quarterback problem right now.
02:06He's got to play better.
02:08That's one thing we got to keep an eye on, Scott.
02:09He didn't play well.
02:11And they face a buzzsaw in New Orleans this week.
02:14So they went to the Super Bowl with him.
02:17And then everyone was higher than a kite on this guy that he was the next great quarterback.
02:22And since that Super Bowl, he's been almost disastrous.
02:27And so have they.
02:28Last year was definitely a bloodletting.
02:31And now the game the other night was embarrassing because 95% of the betters were on the Eagles.
02:36I was on the Falcons in five and a half, hate to tell you.
02:39But here's the deal.
02:42I agree about Hurts is overrated.
02:45Fair enough?
02:46You didn't say that.
02:47I did.
02:48He's overrated.
02:49Secondly, his pass to Barkley was on the money.
02:52Barkley dropped the ball.
02:53He didn't drop it.
02:54Yeah, they would have won, obviously, if he would have caught it.
02:56That's not Hurts' fault.
02:57No, it's not.
02:58But, Scott, I'm telling you, guys are, despite not having A.J. Brown, who, by the way, is
03:02not going to play this week.
03:03He didn't practice today.
03:04And they have another injury, which I'm going to add, which I just got a minute ago.
03:08We'll talk about in a second.
03:10But A.J. Brown has got a hamstring injury.
03:12I get that.
03:13John Dotson filled in.
03:14He had one target for six catches, one catch for six yards.
03:18That's not good enough.
03:19Was Washington right about him?
03:21Well, my understanding is Washington didn't want him.
03:25This new staff was not happy with him at all when they had him.
03:30He was drafted by another general manager.
03:32Was it Adam Peters?
03:33So the fact, Scott, that they traded Johan Dotson in their own division, what does that
03:38tell you?
03:39But the Eagles took him like he was some stud that they were stealing.
03:46You would have thought, when they got him, that they knew what they were doing.
03:51It's like Barkley being traded from the Giants, except Barkley's good and Dotson's done nothing.
03:56And he never did anything in Washington either.
03:58Yeah.
03:59He had a decent rookie season.
04:00Remember, he was a former first-round pick, who the Eagles liked two years ago.
04:03He's a college player.
04:04I know.
04:05He's got to step up.
04:06They need him because Brown's got the hamstring injury.
04:08And this just came in.
04:09T.J. Garner Johnson, one of their starting safeties, has a foot injury.
04:12Didn't work today.
04:13He's had a history of injury.
04:14Pretty good football player.
04:16They're not very deep in the safety position.
04:18That is a bad sign for them.
04:20And they play New Orleans this weekend.
04:22But look, it's a very bad division.
04:24The NFL's worst right now.
04:26On paper, it certainly looks like that.
04:28They should win the division.
04:30But this team is not as good as people thought.
04:32They have been on a downward slide.
04:34Let's not forget, losing six out of seven.
04:37They got hammered.
04:38You and I talked about that many times.
04:40They got embarrassed at Tampa Bay.
04:42They didn't play great week one.
04:44I give them credit for fighting back and winning that game in a knockdown, dragout fight in Brazil.
04:48This game, at home at the Lanky, you got to beat Atlanta.
04:51Atlanta didn't look good.
04:53They looked good late.
04:54But man, that was a bad performance, and one they're not going to forget.
04:57That was a tough loss, but it's going to get harder for them in New Orleans this week.
