A mum has told how her terminal brain tumour symptoms were dismissed as postpartum anxiety.

Kelsey Stokstad, 31, got pins and needles in her arm while cleaning windows and went to hospital but turned down a CT scan because she couldn't afford it.

Doctors put her symptoms down to postpartum anxiety but when the tingles spread to her leg and ended in a seizure, she had tests.

The content creator was diagnosed with a grade three astrocytoma tumour in her brain and given two-to-five years to live.

But after 33 rounds of radiotherapy and 12 rounds of chemotherapy she was handed a lifeline when she qualified to trial a new drug.

Vorasidenib, or Voranigo, specifically treats brain and spinal cancer, and is set to make her condition manageable.

00:53hi I'm Kelsey I'm a 31 year old mom and I have brain cancer so the symptoms
01:01started in May of 2023 and basically the main symptom was tingling and numbness
01:15in my left hand and arm they said it could be anxiety related manifesting
01:25physically so let's get you on some beta blockers in case you have this sensation
01:30again and then you can take it and hopefully it'll stop the symptom obviously the beta
01:38blocker did not work and this sensation happened probably three or four times before the big
01:50one is what I call it which was the day that we found my brain tumor so then when we got
01:58to the emergency room we definitely did a CT scan and that's when they found a four centimeter mass
02:04in my parietal lobe like right on the top right here that was causing me to have minor seizures
02:13that was that sensation I was feeling on my left side and then it was just pressing it was getting
02:21big enough and pressing hard enough against my my parietal lobe that it went down to my left
02:27leg and then caused the grand mal seizure your health is important guys you know if something
02:34doesn't feel right definitely be your own advocate ask the questions you know get the testing done
02:40you know it's obviously the healthcare system like doctors you know they're doing the best that they
02:46can but you are you and you know your body the best so if you really feel like something is
02:51wrong be your own advocate and definitely get the testing done
