Penang cops nab two suspects linked to six robberies in Seberang Perai

Police in Penang on Thursday (Sept 26) arrested two local men aged 29 and 30, linked to multiple robberies in the state.

At a press conference on Friday, Penang police chief Comm Datuk Hamzah Ahmad announced that the arrests led to the resolution of six robbery cases involving voluntary bodily harm, as well as a motorcycle theft case in Central Seberang Perai.

00:00This is the second case, the second incident is the success of the arrest on the theft case, or the case that caused the injury.
00:08Based on the information and evidence provided by the police, the Special Investigation Department of the Central Police Department,
00:16SPT, Pulau Pinang, on the 26th of September, at around 12.20am,
00:22two men were arrested, two Indian men, in Juru, Bukit Bentajam, and in Airitam, Pulau Pinang.
00:29Both arrests have 25 cases, and 14 cases of robbery involving crimes and narcotics.
00:36One B1 has 25 cases, and B2 has 14 cases of robbery.
00:44As a result of the arrest, they were able to solve 5 cases of armed robbery, and 1 case of motorcycle theft in the middle of the city.
00:53The victim was charged with 12,350 rupiahs.
00:59During the arrest, several types of robberies have been reported.
01:05Both of the arrested men were charged with 5054-2024, under Section 394 of the Criminal Code,
01:14and were detained for 7 days, starting from the 26th of September, 2004, until the 2nd of October, 2024.
01:22The arrest has also been made in accordance with the Criminal Code, and both of them have been found to be positive for methamphetamine.
