Moment: Newham bin lorry explosion as empty gas canister causes fire

This is the moment an empty gas bottle ignited in a waste collection vehicle in Newham. The canister, which had been disposed of in a household waste bin, caused an explosion that injured a crew member. Newham council has now issued an urgent plea to residents to take caution when disposing of dangerous waste, such as vapes, electrical items, batteries, gas canisters and bottles.
