00:00I mean, first of all, they're really fun to play.
00:03They're fun to be on the set of.
00:08It's fun playing a character that
00:10is in a heightened emotional state.
00:15But with this project, too, it was
00:20we had to tackle how to build the anticipation.
00:29And I learned from the best during my first horror movie,
00:34which was with Wes Craven.
00:36And he taught me things that, knowing that I had never
00:40done horror before.
00:43And he taught me things like, in this moment,
00:48the speed of your walk, slow it way down.
00:52Even though it might feel uncomfortable,
00:56there's that scene in Scream 4 where I'm on the phone,
01:01and I think it's Trevor pretending to be Ghostface.
01:07And I think he's turned around, and I
01:09think he's in the closet.
01:11That walk to the closet was so slow.
01:15It felt like I was acting in slow motion.
01:20But when I opened the door, it gives that perfect timing
01:28that you have to find to get that reaction,
01:32the right reaction out of the audience, that scare,
01:35that jump scare.
01:39And this one was a different kind of horror film to me.
01:46It's something that happens every day.
01:52It's something that, when I read the script, at the end,
01:59I had to look at myself in the mirror
02:03and realize that I have not done my due diligence when I've
02:11gotten those alerts, because I have, in the past,
02:15been in the mind frame of the chances of me
02:20being the one to find the right car,
02:25person who abducted this child, are one in millions.
02:34But if I can just, every time, I keep it on, too,
02:39because people are allowed to turn it off now.
02:42And sometimes it is about the weather,
02:44but a lot of the times it is an Amber Alert.
02:46And if everyone who's on the road or just even walking
02:51just took a second to look around them, everyone,
02:55even if they're in a rush, just take a look around them.
02:59We can rescue these children being abducted
03:05if everyone thought like that.
03:07So it was important for me to do this movie,
03:09not just because I loved the script,
03:12but because I saw it as also like a PSA to remind people
03:20that I hope, at the end of you watching this,
03:23it's going to change people's behaviors
03:25and how they handle themselves in those situations
03:30when they do see and come across an Amber Alert.
