Ruslaan is a 2024 Indian action drama film written and directed by Karan L Butani where Aayush Sharma in titular role. The story is about young man named Ruslaan who is son of a dead terrorist aiming to join the Indian intelligence agency RAW in order to wipe out his father’s stigma. Born to a righteous police officer, Major Sameer (Jagapathi Babu), Ruslaan has a lot of ‘action’ in his life as he fights of different evils after having to go through the stigma of his ‘past’.
Unfortunately, the movie is very cliché and again, the cinematic style and the focused action put more emphasis on the storyline. Some reviewers pointed out that although there is a lot of spectacular stunt sequences and exciting scenes, there personally and emotionally the film feels quite shallow with hardly any character progression. For a long time the viewers the movie has been criticized for being plain and coming up with clichés similar to earlier bollywood action films.
Nevertheless, it is worth noting that Aayush Sharma’s performances have come under praise for being better than his previous movies; he played well utilizing his physic and energy.
