HERE ARE THE LYRICS:

You'll hear me calling yoo-hoo 'neath
your window some sweet day.
You'll hear me calling yoo-hoo,
and you'll know I'm home to stay.

When I hear your cheery answer, it will
make my dreams come true because
I know that yoo-hoo means "I love you."

"Yoo-Hoo" was popular in 1921 and then forgotten. Al Jolson made a recording of it.

Hackel-Bergè Orchestra

Victor 18802

1921

Vocalist is Irving Kaufman

This dance band enjoyed its greatest success in the early 1920s. It did not play hot jazz--the ensemble was more likely to record a waltz than a fox-trot.

It was led by violinist Alexander Hackel and cellist William E. Bergè.

Pianist is Jack Glogau.

The band recorded for Victor between 1921 and 1922, but also worked with smaller labels such as Perfect and Federal between 1922 and 1923.

The Federal releases were reissued on Silvertone.
