00:00This video was recently captured on September 23rd and this is the moment an American F-16 fighter,
00:06which was under the order of the North American Aerospace Defense Command or NORAD,
00:10was nearly sideswiped by a Russian warplane. The US fighter was on what has been described
00:15as a routine intercept mission of a Russian Tu-95 aircraft. The Russian nuclear capable
00:20bomber was flying in the Alaskan ADIZ or Air Defense Identification Zone. That area is tightly
00:26monitored for foreign aircraft, as it is just off the coast of Alaska over international waters
00:31that border Russian territory. However, during that intercept mission, a Russian Su-35,
00:36which was escorting the bomber, conducted this unsafe maneuver. The move has now been condemned
00:41by NORAD, saying that while their intercepted the bomber and the ADIZ was disciplined,
00:46Russia's aircraft response was not. With General Gregory Gio, NORAD commander, saying about it,
00:51quote, the conduct of one Russian Su-35 was unsafe, unprofessional, and endangered all.
00:56Not what you'd see in a professional air force. In response, the US deployed
01:01personnel with mobile rocket launchers to a nearby island for a week as a deterrent.
