00:00What made you want to be a part of the sequel and step into this dark world the first movie?
00:05Easy answer. I thought he was amazing
00:08I thought the whole thing was amazing and I thought the production of it was amazing in terms of
00:13Allowing that performance to flourish in such a way. So when I heard the same team were happening
00:17I was absolutely over the moon about it. What was it like sharing scenes with Joaquin as Arthur Fleck? It was fantastic
00:25it's exciting because
00:27It's kept it's kept fresh all the time and
00:32You know, you look back in hindsight and you kind of say god
00:35I wish maybe I could have gone a bit further with some of the stuff and then you kind of thing. Well
00:41There's an odd kind of dynamic where really what you need to do is to
00:44Hold hold the bar a little bit as he kind of jumps over slightly, but he's extraordinarily generous
00:51And so you're giving full you're giving a full kind of breath yourself. It's a very collaborative thing
00:56He's amazing. He's amazing actor
00:58Todd has said this movie isn't a musical but there are musical elements. How would you define this movie in terms of genre?
01:05Well, I think music is a narrative
01:09It's a it's one of the narrative arms in other words, I
01:14Think the music tells an emotional story at times without words at times with lyrics
01:20that sometimes is flying in the face of what's
01:23happening on screen and so
01:26It's very much a part of the mix
01:29Where it's quite a conflicting movie this you can you can feel two and three things at the same time and music is a huge
01:34part of that
01:35How would you say this movie expands on what we saw in the first film that was so beloved by so many I can't tell you
01:42that I
01:44Think that's going to be everybody's own personal response. It's like I
01:49Just I want I've seen it once and I can't wait to see it on IMAX again because I think it's worth seeing with all
01:55That power and the particularly with the musical numbers
01:57I can't wait and to get the whole experience of that
02:00But I'm going to be rethinking as I go through it because it's that kind of film
02:04I love films where you come out afterwards and you have a good chat about what you think you saw or what you saw or
02:10What you didn't say, so it's one of those and finally your former co-star Colin Farrell is also in the DC universe with the Penguin
02:16Any chance we could ever see you guest star in that series?
02:21Well, it's probably unlikely
02:25But never say never
