00:00The Brewers, a very blue-collar team, Sky, worked very hard this year, ran away with
00:08the NL Central.
00:09Pat Murphy does not expect his team to stop doing that once we get into the postseason.
00:14They created this, and they did it in a way they know how they did it, and it wasn't by
00:20worried about who's got a bigger budget, or who's got more experience, or who was on the
00:26All-Star team.
00:27They did it by pulling together and playing a certain way, and they know that's the secret.
00:35I don't think they wiped the slate clean in that this is how I play.
00:40The numbers are out the windows now, it doesn't matter.
00:44Now it's about win tonight, and they've kind of been doing that all year.
00:49I feel very fortunate to have a group of people that are that competitive and look at the
00:54game that way.
00:56I'll tell you one thing, Mike, they seem to have the Mets number.
01:01They seem to have the Mets number.
01:02They've played very well against the Mets the last couple of seasons, including last
01:06weekend when they took two out of three from them in Milwaukee.
01:10Tonight, it will be Freddy Peralta getting the ball in game number one for the Brewers.
01:15Luis Severino, who of course, they did the dopey celebration in the locker room, Scotty,
01:21which both teams did after that game yesterday, which makes even more W-no sense to me, considering
01:28they both had to go somewhere to play a game today.
01:31But they went and did all the dopey, and Luis Severino had the water in his hand, basically
01:35to say, I'm not drinking, I know I have to pitch tomorrow.
01:39They are plus 125, Severino and the Mets, minus 150 for Peralta and the Brew Crew.
01:45This is a seven and a half total here in game number one.
01:48As Luke knows, I would have a drink at the celebration, and then I would have another
01:55one before the game today, so that you could limber up for today's game, hair and a dog.
02:05Look, I don't know if any of that matters.
02:08What I do know is that, like I said, the Brewers seem to own them, but I think Severino's better
02:15than people give him credit for.
02:17I think the guy can pitch.
02:19He didn't win all those games this year because he sucks, and I think the Mets lineup is sick.
02:24I really do.
02:25Like, have fun pitching to them.
02:28Every guy on that team can hit.
02:31Every single guy can hit.
02:33I mean, it doesn't matter, Alvarez, Vientos, Alonzo, it goes on and on, Lindor, Nimmo.
02:41You have to admit, Mike, that they are a brutal lineup to get through.
02:45I like their chances against Milwaukee, even though the Brewers own them, allegedly, that
02:54they're so much better than the Mets.
02:56I don't believe in any of that nonsense starting today.
02:59This is the postseason.
03:00This is a playoff game.
03:02This is a whole fresh new kid in caboodle.
03:06I don't believe that teams that just play each other six times a year that you can own
03:13a team.
03:14Teams you play in your own division, and you play them 11, 12, 13 times a year, you see
03:19them all the time, that you can own somebody.
03:22You see these teams so infrequently now with the way baseball schedule's done, Scotty,
03:28I don't think that the owning anybody stuff matters.
03:30I actually think the Mets are going to win this series.
03:32I think it's going to go three games, and I think the Mets are going to move on.
03:36You talked about how the Yankees and the Orioles, kind of little collision course, seems like
03:40it's meant to be for those two teams to play each other.
03:45Mets and Phillies would be a lot of fun in the division series if we could ever get there
03:50this weekend too.
03:51Brewers have had trouble in this round the last few years.
03:56Diamondbacks beat them last year in Milwaukee, so they've had some issues getting out of
04:01this spot before.
04:03I always like to give you a couple for your own entertainment.
04:07The Winkman's in the lineup for the Mets today.
04:10Would you like to know why, Scotty?
04:11Six for 18 with two homers off of Peralta in his career.
04:15On the other side, Reese Hoskins three for six with a homer off of Severino.
04:19Adamas four for 11 with a homer off of Severino.
04:22The Brewers have some guys that have hit Severino as well on their side of things.
04:28I like the over in this one too.
04:29I think you're going to get some runs with Severino and Peralta on the mound today.
