Calling all students from engineering, business, and public policy streams worldwide. The international Technology and Societal Impact Conference (TaSIC) 2025, organised by WISE Tech at SPJIMR, is hosting a student Ideathon on February 21, 2025. The theme? ‘AI for a Green Bharat/Planet’.

00:00We are all living in a world of exciting possibilities, and also changes driven by changes to technology,
00:12changes to the geopolitical landscape, and changes due to digital divides.
00:17And in this context, the WiseTech Center of SPJMR is organizing an exciting conference
00:25TASIC 2025, which is Technology and Societal Impact Conference, to address not only the
00:33challenges but also the possibilities.
00:36There are three tracks culminating in a Wise Innovation Award, the three tracks being the
00:42academic track, a research and action track, and a student ideathon track.
00:48And therefore, the student ideathon that's going to be organized as a part of this TASIC
00:532025 conference provides a great platform for addressing something that is becoming
00:58very relevant to all of us today, and that is, how do we leverage artificial intelligence
01:04for a greener Bharat?
01:06How do we leverage AI for a greener planet?
01:09The student ideathon is an opportunity for young students from all across the world,
01:14not just in India, but also from other parts of the world, to be able to present their
01:20ideas, their imaginations, their innovations through beautiful crafted concepts to address
01:28the various challenges that we talk about.
01:31Take for example, AI for a greener Bharat.
01:34India has 650,000 villages, more than 8,000 small towns and cities, and it has 715 districts.
01:42115 of these districts are called aspirational districts, because they are at the bottom
01:47of the pyramid in terms of basic access to healthcare, education, clean drinking water,
01:54sanitation, waste management, affordable housing, electricity management.
01:59We need sustainable solutions, leveraging energy management or electricity management
02:05or water management or affordable housing, and we need to leverage AI for all of this.
02:11The student ideathon provides this platform.
02:15All the students whose ideas are submitted and which are found to be good, will have
02:21an opportunity to refine their ideas with interactions with this distinguished galaxy
02:26of academicians, scholars, as well as practitioners.
02:32And there is an opportunity for them to become part of the SPJMR's Entrepreneur in Residence
02:38program, where their ideas can be converted into innovation, products and services that
02:43can serve not only the domestic market in India for a greener Bharat, but also for the
02:48rest of the world.
02:50And therefore, I invite every one of you to join this conference and participate in it
02:54wholeheartedly and get the benefit that is very much needed at this point in time for
03:00all of us to reflect and contribute to, not only for India, but for the entire planet.
