The top model in the series, the new BMW X3 M50 xDrive, is powered by the most powerful in-line six-cylinder petrol engine ever used in an M Performance automobile. The 3.0-liter M TwinPower Turbo engine is combined with 48-volt mild hybrid technology. Its maximum output of 293 kW/398 hp is transferred to the road via an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission and the intelligent BMW xDrive all-wheel drive. The BMW X3 M50 xDrive sprints from a standstill to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. In addition, the particularly powerful drive, together with model-specific chassis technology, ensures fascinating agility, dynamics and precision in handling. An M Sport chassis with variable sport steering, an M Sport brake system, 20-inch M light alloy wheels and an M Sport differential integrated into the rear axle transmission are part of the standard equipment. An Adaptive M suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers is available as an option. M-specific design features, the M kidney grille with horizontal bars and the BMW Iconic Glow contour lighting as well as the four tailpipes of the exhaust system underline the status of the BMW M automobile as the most powerful model variant of the new BMW X3.
