With flu season approaching, we ask the people of Birmingham if they've already had their flu jab or plan to get it this year. What factors have influenced their decision, and do they believe enough is being done to raise awareness about the importance of vaccination? We also explore concerns and what might encourage more people to get vaccinated in the future.

00:00Well it's a lengthy question but the answer is yes I will have my flu vaccine
00:04I think everyone should have it I'm a great believer in prevention rather than
00:08cure I think it's good for the for the individuals but I think it's also hugely
00:11good for the state as well that we're spending money initially and putting off
00:15much longer term problems. I don't know that it's being promoted enough all I
00:19can tell you is my own surgery is very very good in Winchester and Hampshire
00:22and asking you to come in and get these sort of things done so I hope that's a
00:27comprehensive enough answer. I didn't have the vaccine last year I'm not going
00:31to have it this year I don't think I don't think I need it I don't think I'm
00:36fit enough really to fight off any flu that's around. Same goes as Covid
00:40I'm not going to have the Covid vaccine. I have had it and I have had Covid
00:47but I did have a bad reaction to the Covid vaccine last time I had it so I'm
00:53not going to have that again. The same goes for the flu vaccine I just don't think I
00:57need it.
