00:00Like TV, whenever I played my best, I always was annoyed when I got asked to be an interview
00:07or asked to go do this after the round.
00:10I think we really need to get in there with the players and be like, look, dude, we're
00:13trying to make the best product available.
00:15You like playing for 20 million bucks.
00:17We like telling about it.
00:18Let's make this all a partnership and you got to come help us out more.
00:22So then, and the viewer likes it.
00:23And I think I could do that with you more than Paul Azinger or Tommy Roy can do that
00:29if you're just being honest.
00:31And I think if I ever got that job, I would implore Sam Flood or anybody at NBC to let
00:36you and I kind of run with being more involved with the players and getting their perspective.
00:40Like if you were in the locker room after you got done asking Rory McIlroy or Xander
00:45Schauffele what happens on 18 and how much pressure is he feeling because Xander won
00:50it and all things like that, I think it's better perspective than me sitting up there
00:55talking about it who hadn't hit a golf shot in 10 days.
00:58You know, and I think listening to the fans, I think some of the things that they always
01:01continue to talk about our commercials, they seem to always want to talk about showing
01:06more shots, but you've been in that seat and you know how chaotic it is in the trucks and
01:11how difficult it is to show all of the shots.
01:14Can you just add a little perspective from what you've seen?
01:17Well, those two points are perfect.
01:19I mean, whenever we call golf, I can't believe how fast we go shot, shot, shot, shot.
01:24I feel like I can't even tell you what happened before Tommy's in my ear going 13, Rory McIlroy.
01:30And I'm like, well, damn, I had a good story to say about Scotty Sheffler on the last shot,
01:34but I've started it and I had to stop because we're going to the next one.
01:37And then from the commercial side, I always thought the same thing when I watched golf
01:41at home.
01:42I'm like, oh, here comes another commercial.
01:43And then when I'm calling golf, I'm like, can we please God go to commercial?
01:47Like I got to take a leak and I only have 90 seconds to take a leak for the first time
01:51in two hours.
01:52And I've got to run out there to a portal and then run back, throw a headset on and
01:56have no clue what's going on.
01:58So I what I would say is I welcome anyone to come in the booth when I'm working.
02:04The door is wide open.
02:06You can come in there and wear a headset.
02:07And you tell me if you think we have too many commercials.
