Im Thriller 72 Hours gehen zwei Brüder mit einiger Geheimniskrämerei zwei sehr verschiedenen Geschäften nach: Sebastian (Sam Trammell) ist FBI-Agent und einem großen Gangsterboss auf der Spur. Alex (Cam Gigandet) ist Geldwäscher für besagten Gangsterboss. Bei einer Razzia fliegt Alex' Geheimnis auf und Sebastian lässt ihn laufen, doch als Rache für den geplatzten Deal entführt Alex' Boss nun dessen Tochter.
