00:00Well, on Monday, we saw the last coal-fired power station in Britain close after 142 years.
00:07That's the end of an era. Today marks the beginning of a new era, a new industry for
00:12Britain, carbon capture and storage, essential for hard-to-abate sectors like cement, creating
00:19thousands of good jobs across the country. We're uniquely well-placed as a country to
00:24benefit from this because of the North Sea. And so it's such an important investment for
00:29Britain and an independent watchdog that advises me and advises Parliament. They say
00:34carbon capture is essential if we're to meet our carbon budgets. It's essential if we're
00:39to decarbonise. Take an industry like cement. How is it going to decarbonise without carbon
00:44capture? It can't. So you can either close it down or you can actually say, we're going
00:49to build a future for this industry. And for us, it's so important, this, because decarbonisation
00:55cannot mean de-industrialisation.
