00:00From the disease of typhus to diarrhea, the newspapers have their own explanations for the illegal parking on the road.
00:10Other businesses do not understand why it is prohibited to park on the road.
00:16Katrina Sol has the story.
00:23Some cars parked on the side of the road at China Roses Avenue Extension.
00:29That's why they have to park on both sides.
00:48It took half an hour to find a driver.
00:59The jeeps that were waiting for the passengers and the private cars that were blocked were seen.
01:04But when we came back, the cars that were seen returned less than 10 minutes later.
01:10The situation is also the same on the side of Taguig.
01:13This tricycle was just left by its driver.
01:18It just got vulgarized. That's why I just went home and stayed there for a while.
01:21Now here, every place here, up to the other side, there are people who are watching.
01:29If they don't want to leave, we are blocking them.
01:33The MMDA and the LGUs have repeated problems with illegal parking.
01:39There are establishments in the area that lack parking spaces.
01:44The establishments also do not fully understand why parking is prohibited.
01:49That's why the MMDA is asking for more supervision here.
01:53Personally, we are looking into the deployment.
01:57We will have a team there, which is the quick response team.
02:01We will put them there for the span of, hopefully, in a span of a month,
02:08the motorists will learn to park there.
02:11Starting Monday, the MMDA personnel will monitor and implement violations in the area.
02:19They will also help the LGUs here so that this area will be more targeted.
02:26For GMA Integrated News, Katrina Son, 24 Hours.
02:33Literally short but sweet was the beach vacation of Kailin Alcantara and Kobe Paras,
02:43which was made even more special because their loved ones were there.
02:47Kailin and Kobe answered the real score between the two.
02:53Let's talk to Lars Santiago.
02:57Enjoy the beautiful view of the beach and the seafood
03:04of Kailin Alcantara and Kobe Paras in Infanta Quezon.
03:09Kailin's parents and a few people close to them were with Short VK.
03:16I'm happy because Kailin's parents are with us.
03:19It gives me a chance to bond with them and to get to know each other better, even you guys.
03:25Kobe and I really love nature.
03:28And bonding with my family and with my beautiful grandmother.
03:36Can Kobe say that his vacation was even more special because he was with Kailin?
03:43Yeah, I can say that.
03:47Basically, it's our second time by the beach.
03:50It's going to be interesting to do activities this time.
03:54Because it's our first time in China.
03:56When asked what the real score of the two was, they said...
04:03I always say, what you see is what you get.
04:07Again, like I said before, it's not my responsibility to explain or confirm or deny anything.
04:14But I will answer.
04:15Yeah, promise.
04:16I will answer.
04:17I have a famous quote online.
04:20So we're just friends.
04:22We're just friends.
04:23He's an island boy.
04:25Kailin and Kobe praise each other for a lot of things.
04:30Like being a good person and loving their family.
04:34But when it comes to physical affection...
04:37For me, it's the eyes.
04:42That's the first thing I saw when I met her.
04:44Basically, I'm her smile.
04:47After the vacation, Kailin went back to work.
04:52For Shining Inheritance.
04:55After this vacation, I'm going back to work.
04:59I'm so excited.
05:00Lore Santiago updated on the showbiz happenings.
05:07Full circle moment for Sparkle and South Korean actor Kim Jisoo
05:12is the birth of the movie Mujike.
05:14Even though they made an independent film before with a Filipino director,
05:19it's the first time for him to appear in a mainstream Filipino film.
05:22And it's also the first time for him to play a role as a dad.
05:26Let's talk to Aubrey Carampel.
05:31Prince Hwang Jong became a martyr in Moonlover's Scarlet Heart Reyo.
05:36Adrian Park became a hired assassin in Black Rider.
05:40And Dr. Kim Young in Abot Kamay na Pangarap.
05:43For the first time, Sparkle and South Korean actor Kim Jisoo
05:48became a dad in Mujike, his first mainstream Filipino film.
05:54He was inspired by the story of Mujike, a Filipino.
06:02Also, this movie was kind of kawawa but at the same time,
06:06it's like very beautiful and very warm and heartwarming family drama movie.
06:14So, I wanted to be just part of it.
06:17It's a full circle moment for Jisoo that 10 years ago,
06:21he made an independent film with a Filipino director.
06:25Actually, it's very thankful because every people always welcome to me
06:30and they are always being nice to me.
06:35My first foreign friend was Filipino and my first film director was Filipino.
06:41So, I don't know why we have still connection here, till here.
06:45So, I think, yeah, yeah, I think I have some kind of connection with Philippines.
06:51He also continued his study of Filipino language.
06:54And he also learned new words.
06:59I am kind.
07:00I am mean.
07:03I am mean.
07:04I am mean.
07:05But kind.
07:06Deep inside, in some way, I am kind.
07:09Am I handsome?
07:10You are handsome.
07:13You are beautiful.
07:16Just kidding.
07:17Aside from Alex Sailacan, Rairi Sofia, Ana Luna, Richard Kwan and Donna Cariaga,
07:23Sparkle artist Rufa May Quinto has a special participation in the movie.
07:28She accepted the role because she relates as a mom to a 7-year-old daughter.
07:34We have to learn from the kids too.
07:37Because when you are a parent, you have to be strict.
07:40We have to listen to the voices, the drama, or whatever the kids are good at.
07:46Aside from Mujige, PG will also make a movie with Direct Joyce Bernal.
07:53Aubrey Carampel, updated to showbiz happiness.
07:57Let's go.
08:08The peg of our topic, Innovation Tonight, is a superhero.
08:12And this is like a superpower for those of us who have limb differences.
08:17Whatever that is, let's go.
08:19Let's change the game.
08:20It started with a thesis project made with a 3D printed prototype.
08:26At Do-It-Yourself Electronics.
08:30That meant to this.
08:36Bionic prosthetic arm.
08:37That will help our countrymen who have limb differences.
08:44Superhero armor of Bacamo.
08:46Malas Superhero Armor of Bacamo.
08:52That is the answer of electromyography technology that is programmed in the prototype.
08:56Developed by these brilliant computer engineering students from SPI College, Ortigas, Cainta.
09:03We felt that it is very hard to move during the pandemic.
09:06If it is hard to move, for us, how much more our fellowmen who have limb differences.
09:14With the help of Amputee Case Study,
09:17we were able to learn how to use EMG sensors and machine learning to control the bionic prosthetic arm.
09:26Our target is below the elbow.
09:28So that there is a muscle that can be extracted from the amputee.
09:32One major problem with prosthetic devices is the lack of feedback from users.
09:39Because they don't feel if they are holding an object.
09:45So we implemented that on every finger that has a force sensor.
09:50Then it will vibrate if the object you are holding is strong.
09:55In the amount of Php 50,000 to Php 70,000,
09:58the bionic prosthetic arm can already reach
10:01if compared to the usual cosmetic and body powered prosthetics,
10:05which are Php 500,000 to Php 1,000,000 each.
10:10No wonder the project was recognized as a best thesis,
10:13which was also planned to be patented by the group.
10:16Our invention started with the EMG sensor because it uses electromyography technology.
10:25This EMG sensor picks up muscle activity or muscle signal from the person wearing it.
10:33The good thing about this is that it is non-invasive.
10:35It will be sent to the microcontroller inside the bionic prosthetic arm,
10:42where it will determine and transmit and command what kind of movement it will do.
10:55An innovation that could change the game,
10:58especially for our Filipinos who have limb differences.
11:03This will be more accessible to them so that their daily life will be easier.
11:10For GMA Integrated News, I am Martin Aviar.
11:13Changing the game!
11:14Changing the game!
11:17Even if it was forced, because of various cases,
11:19Alice Guo will be allowed to become the mayor of Bamban Tarlac again.
11:25Darlene Cai has the news.
11:30The ombudsman dismissed Alice Guo as the mayor of Bamban Tarlac
11:34which became controversial because of her alleged involvement in the illegal shooting.
11:38But it seems that she is preparing for her comeback.
11:42Her lawyer said that Guo's run in the election continues.
11:46If the people really want her, they should be the ones to judge.
11:51The people should be the ones to decide if she should be allowed to serve in their place.
11:58When she was dismissed from her position,
12:00she was included in the decision to issue a perpetual disqualification to Guo
12:03for holding any position in the government.
12:06There was also a petition to cancel Guo's Filipino birth certificate
12:09because she is Chinese.
12:11She is also facing allegations of qualified trafficking, money laundering, and tax evasion.
12:16There are no decisions of the courts as of now that she is not Filipino.
12:22How will she decide if she is qualified or not?
12:25Because the ombudsman ruling is not yet final.
12:28In fact, we still have a pending reconsideration.
12:31And there is still a Court of Appeals and Supreme Court.
12:35So, it is still a long process.
12:38Solicitor General Minarto Guevara also said that
12:40the COC may still issue a petition because there are still pending cases against her.
12:45That's why Comelec said that they will accept it.
12:49Actually, there is no guarantee that she will file a petition.
12:52But we were not surprised because she can still run
13:00because there is still no final decision of the court.
13:02So, as long as a person is not convicted, she can run for any position.
13:08But Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulia is studying the prohibition of Guo's candidacy.
13:14Well, I wouldn't say it's her right.
13:17She can try, but I wouldn't say it's her right.
13:21Because she's not Filipino, and she bears falsified documents.
13:25However, it is possible that Guo will face his incumbent counselor and acting mayor Eranio Timbang,
13:32Tarlac ex-officio board member and Barangay Annapol chairman Jose Joey Salting,
13:37who was a close opponent of Guo during the 2022 elections.
13:41Former Bamban Mayor Jose Antonio Feliciano, who was followed by Guo,
13:45was suspended by Bamban Vice Mayor Leonardo Ding Anonsation,
13:50who is running for his re-election.
13:52The former counselor, Rodolfo Rudy Escoto, is also a candidate.
13:56Unlike other candidates here in Bamban,
13:59there are still no feelers or initial information on the field of Dismissed Mayor Alice Guo
14:03or Guo Huaping, who will be her authorized representative.
14:07But it's time for her to go to the local Comelec office
14:11where she will be charged like other COCs.
14:15From here in Bamban, Tarlac, for GMA Integrated News,
14:19Darlene Cai, for 24 Hours.
14:23President Bongbong Marcos will once again assert the Philippines' right
14:28to the West Philippine Sea in the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and Related Summits.
14:35According to the Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary, Daniel Espiritu,
14:40even though ASEAN has declared for a peaceful settlement of disputes in the South China Sea,
14:47it has never declared peace on China's dangerous actions in the West Philippine Sea.
14:55Just like the Philippines, there are other countries in ASEAN,
14:59such as Vietnam, which is also part of the South China Sea.
15:03We expect to discuss other issues in the region,
15:07such as human trafficking and illegal smuggling in Laos from October 8 to 11.
15:18Leavies can't be happier because one day before the concert of Olivia Rodrigo,
15:24some of her luckiest guests are the pop stars.
15:28This is the first time a Grammy Award-winning singer has visited the country.
15:33That's why in honor of her Pinoy roots,
15:36Olivia went back and forth to tour in several places in Manila.
15:41In a post by Caddy Lautenko,
15:43it's not just a stranger that she spotted while walking in Intramuros.
15:49Oh, she even took a selfie with Olivia.
15:53A tour guide, Stephen Mariano, also met Olivia,
15:58who biked around Intramuros with her family and friends.
16:02Stephen's joke is that even though he ran out of tickets,
16:05he still met and interacted with Olivia.
16:12Thank you, Rabia.
16:13The President of the League of Barangays in Malolos was also there.
16:19Ramil Capistrano was dead on the spot
16:21after being shot by unidentified gunmen.
16:24Capistrano's driver was also killed.
16:27The Central Luzon Police formed a Special Investigation Task Group
16:30to find the gunmen and identify the motive of the crime.
16:35Kamalek said that even though it might not be related to the COC filing,
16:40it can't be avoided that it's related to the crime because the victim is a politician.
16:48The owner of the St. Timothy Construction Corporation
16:52is the only one who backed the joint venture
16:55for the supply of automated election systems this election 2025
17:00and another construction company in Pasig.
17:03According to Pasig City Mayor Vico Soto,
17:06the owner of St. Gerard Construction
17:08has plans to run for mayor of Pasig
17:11but St. Gerard Construction is against it.
17:14Chino Gaston was on the spot.
17:19In withdrawing the St. Timothy Construction Corporation or STCC
17:23from the joint venture for the supply of automated election system for the election 2025,
17:29Kamalek said that the members of the joint venture
17:33should fulfill the obligations of backing the company.
17:36Kamalek will also find out if they have a legal liability.
17:40The STCC will remember to back the joint venture of Miru Systems
17:45and two other local partners after Kamalek was interviewed.
17:48This is after Kamalek received information
17:51that the STCC owners have plans to run for local and national positions.
17:57There are interviews, especially of a woman who is running,
18:02where they are confirming that she can run for Pasig City.
18:08Therefore, for us, it's a red flag.
18:12We became concerned about that.
18:15We were able to convey that as early as last week
18:18to our two remaining partners who are always with Kamalek.
18:22The concern of the commission, why is that? Is that true?
18:26Following the announcement of Kamalek,
18:28Pasig City Mayor Vico Soto posted on social media.
18:31He said that only two people are behind the STCC and St. Gerard Construction
18:38who are planning to run for their candidacy in Pasig.
18:41Mayor Soto said that the business address of St. Gerard and St. Timothy
18:46and almost both of the incorporators will be the same.
18:49When we interviewed the owners of St. Gerard,
18:52Pacifico Descayo II admitted that they used to be a shareholder of St. Timothy,
18:57but St. Gerard divested from St. Timothy.
19:00St. Timothy used to own their building, but it left.
19:05We used to be an investor in St. Timothy.
19:09But we divested because we didn't have the understanding of our partners.
19:16Of course, we didn't know who were the followers of those who became president.
19:21Now, if they withdrew, we have nothing to do with that.
19:27In 2016, we were no longer there.
19:30In 2016 or 2017, we divested.
19:34We became an investor there.
19:40We got to know each other because in one bidding, we are competing with other contractors.
19:47The GMA Integrated News asked how many of them are planning to run for the election.
19:52Now, many are pushing him to run because many people are asking for help.
19:59We felt that Mayor Vico is doing this to us to provoke us to run.
20:07He's doing this so that he will have an opponent.
20:10But sometimes, his wife, Sarah Descayo, announced that she will run as the mayor of Pasig City.
20:17Descayo believes that Soto is intentionally pinning them
20:21because St. Gerard believed in his support for his opponent in the 2019 local elections.
20:27We tried interviewing Mayor Soto, but he refused because his schedule is full.
20:33For GMA Integrated News, who won the election? 24 hours.
20:40And that's the news this Friday.
20:42My fellow countrymen, it's just 82 days until Christmas.
20:46I am Mel Tiangco.
20:48I am Vicky Morales.
20:49For a bigger mission.
20:50For a wider service to the country.
20:52I am Emil Sumangil.
20:54From GMA Integrated News, the Philippine News Authority, we learned 24 hours.
