00:00Can you head to Brighton? I just wanted to ask you about Fabian Herzl, a 31-year-old, younger than most people in this room.
00:07What do you make of the job he's done at Brighton? How impressive has he been?
00:11Yeah, great. I mean, he's 31. It's crazy, but I think that's about the age I started, albeit at not this level.
00:22Yeah, really impressive.
00:25When he was coaching St Paul, he coached Jackson Irvine, who I had to Socceroos.
00:30He's a great player, but a fantastic person as well.
00:33He actually reached out to us and said, Fabian likes what you're doing, can he come pay a visit?
00:40He came and spent a day with us last year and he asked a hell of a lot of questions.
00:44I gave him too many answers, that's for sure, if I'd have known he'd be Brighton manager.
00:50You could tell he's just a real student of the game, wanted as much knowledge.
00:55He was already a senior manager and he got them promoted last year, so he was already doing a good job.
01:01You could tell when somebody's got that sort of curiosity.
01:04I think that's a key for all managers, especially young ones, is you've got to maintain that.
01:08It can get sucked out of you at times, because when you get into the battle,
01:14particularly at this level of dealing with one crisis or another,
01:18you can forget that it's that curiosity to always find out more information.
01:24I think if he maintains that, he'll be an outstanding manager.
01:28He's done well. It's probably a perfect fit for him, because I think Brighton are a fantastic club.
01:33They're careful about who they put in as manager.
01:37There's usually an alignment there, which I wonder sometimes with other clubs,
01:43whether they even think about that stuff. So he's in a great place.
