00:00Well it's called Coffee Shop. It's basically me sat in coffee shops

00:04sketching something completely different to what I normally do in my career

00:09obviously it's not comics but it's me just sort of going back to my roots and

00:14really rediscovering just drawing, drawing without thinking, drawing just

00:18what I see in front of me which is something I never really do and

00:23obviously it's for a really good cause because all the money, all the proceeds

00:27from the book, the sale of original artwork, sale of prints go towards the

00:31hive. As an illustrator I always need a project it's as simple as that I

00:37think that's that's the kind of the definition of illustration. Quite a

00:42few years prior to this I did a basically vanity publishing which is a

00:47book on my life drawings and so that was a sort of shall we say putting

00:54the feelings out into have that that style of drawing just drawing and

00:58looking and things like that and after I finished that I just thought oh it'd be

01:02really good to do a similar book and then I thought well you know I like

01:08sitting in coffee shops and yeah just just snowballed from there you know just

01:14more I suppose for want of a better word guerrilla style drawing because

01:18obviously when you're life drawing the model's aware that you're drawing them

01:21you're in a controlled environment etc etc you have a certain amount of times

01:25you know your time limit on every single drawing this was like you're trying to

01:30draw people you're not sure whether they're going to move you're not sure

01:33whether they're going to get up and leave you know so you're sort of trying

01:36to get down marks as soon as possible that's kind of the point as well I love

01:40that idea of just looking and drawing and the magic that happens when you're

01:44not thinking about what you're doing. Yes yes three select coffee shops

01:49because I thought it'd be nicer just to choose a certain number of coffee shops

01:54and go in there and they were aware of what I was doing rather than sort of

01:58just a random selection you know yeah it just made sense
