00:00We have reached the 27th edition and as a child who grows, as he moves, he continues to move his steps, he strengthens himself more and more thanks also to the support of all the friends who are involved, and it is a great opportunity for us and also for the island.
00:24I practically grew up with this award, at the beginning when it was organized by Graziella, who was the promoter together with Moravia, my aunt Graziella Nonardi Buontempo, together with Alberto Moravia and Capria and all the other friends involved, I was the little mascot, I grew up with the award.
00:46Then I had a forced stop when Graziella, unfortunately, was not very well, then the same Moravia was missing, so those things that stop for a moment.
00:56Then thanks to an energy found mine and also of the presence of the Ponte Corvo family, of the Ferrarelli Benefit society and of many other friends involved who supported us in this idea, first of all the presence of Capria, which unfortunately left us some time ago, we returned on stage.
01:24Thanks also to the same city of Capria that welcomed us again with open arms, the magical atmosphere that is always on this island and the certainty that accompanies us during the awarding.
01:36Yes, absolutely. So, as always, the choice of the award takes place between a discussion that is within our jury and almost everyone agreed immediately.
01:51I am only the general secretary, so I collect the information from my jurors and the voice came to the choice of Rachel Kask, who is a beautiful voice on the world of female writing and on female themes, always seen from perspectives that are also a bit unusual.
02:15But this reinforces even more the power of the story and therefore it seemed to us that it was almost a wave that was turning us, which came from afar, because as in this last year we have seen with various examples, both in the cinematographic world and in the world of writing, there was a need to want to make the power of writing feel more and more.
02:44And above all that of women. And we are happy to have approached Kask.
02:52The prospects are precisely to involve more and more personality and obviously also to give more emphasis to themes that are very dear to us.
03:07These are voices out of the choir. This has always been the spirit with which the malaparte has moved and which is the path we tend to follow. And Capri does not need to be taken out of the world because he is already the protagonist.
03:26But to bring back the image of Capri, not only as a holiday image, but as the place of ideas that this island owes so much to, because let's not forget that there have been illustrious examples here, for us it is an important flag that we want to carry forward.
