00:07Directed by Santiago Limón, Nothing to See Here is about two disabled friends having

00:10each other's backs.

00:12The story revolves around the way Alexis envisions his life.

00:16That could be a dark joke because Alexis is visually impaired.

00:20Replete with witty comedies, the series brings out the quest of two disabled friends to come

00:24in search of a new life in Mexico City.

00:26Will Alexis eventually be able to fulfill his dream of becoming a stand-up comedian?

00:31Let's find out and just to let you know this video will contain spoilers.

00:35Alexis is a 27-year-old blind young man who is unsure of what to make of his life.

00:40His best friend is Charlie, who has cerebral palsy.

00:43Alexis, a visually impaired guy, has dreams of his own and decides to move out of the

00:47comfort of his home to prove a point to the world.

00:50He asks his friend Charlie, another disabled guy with cerebral palsy, to become his manager

00:55as they move to Mexico City.

00:57He has dreams of becoming a stand-up comedian because he realized that is what he is good

01:01at.

01:02Alexis had told Charlie that he wanted to become a stand-up comedian because he could

01:05not see people's emotions, but their laughter was something that gave him pleasure.

01:10He had displayed his talent as a comedian at a show that he and Charlie had randomly

01:13attended.

01:15The comedian on stage had been ridiculing them for their physical disabilities.

01:19Alexis had gone up on the stage and had stolen the limelight off the comedian with his witty

01:23stand-up jokes.

01:25What issues do they face in Mexico?

01:28As Alexis tries to cope with his life in Mexico, new challenges keep coming his way.

01:32He and Charlie face issues with every little thing.

01:35They face emotional troubles, get robbed, have difficulties crossing the jostling roads,

01:40and almost everything else.

01:42Just when they are looking for jobs, Johanna, Alexis' ex-girlfriend, comes up and offers

01:46him a job.

01:48She tells him that he had to give an inspirational speech at her cousin's university.

01:52He takes up the task and goes there, inspiring youngsters with his speech, with a hint of

01:56stand-up to it.

01:58Just when Alexis tries getting back home, he meets with an accident.

02:02He then comes across Azul, the girl who hit him with her car, and instantly falls in love

02:05with her voice.

02:07She gets him treated, and on their way back home, she tells him that the city is like

02:11a jigsaw puzzle and all he has to do is find the first two pieces, and then things would

02:15eventually fall into place.

02:17The two friends also get mugged on the road, and the next day Maya comes up to Alexis and

02:21Charlie's place with Lalo, whom they recognize as the mugger.

02:25She apologizes to them on his behalf and tells them that she is their neighbor and was working

02:29in a gang with Lalo and Jimmy.

02:31They all instantly form a bond and visit a new place in the city.

02:35It is a place at a great height from which all the lights of the city can be seen.

02:39Despite not being able to see the lights, Alexis comes up with a plan and wants to start

02:43his journey from a bar that he had been fired from for being blind.

02:47He wanted to ensure that people's perceptions about disabled people could change.

02:51Why is Yuyo so protective of Alexis?

02:54Yuyo, being an ophthalmologist, could not bring back his son's vision, and he was declared

02:58visually impaired.

03:00He had the guilt of not being able to help him retrieve his vision, and hence he was

03:03very protective of him.

03:05He tried everything he could to give his son options for a better future.

03:09He tried setting him up for piano classes, swimming classes, and other activities in

03:14which he could possibly find a career in the future.

03:17His mother, on the other hand, believed that Alexis could do everything that others could

03:20do.

03:21When Yuyo is not sure about Alexis' safety in Mexico City, he starts following him around

03:25the city and keeping a tab on his son's activities.

03:29He ensures that no difficulties befall Alexis, and being a responsible father, he also sends

03:33in small amounts of money for emergency purposes for him.

03:37The constant fear of losing his son tortures Yuyo, and he cannot just sit back in his home

03:41while his son is toiling for his career.

03:43How does Choco bully Alexi?

03:46Alexis and Charlie approach Choco, a bar owner who had initially fired Alexis for his disability.

03:51They ask him to give Alexis the opportunity to arrange for a stand-up comedy show so that

03:55Alexis could perform on his stage, causing the bar to gain some popularity.

04:00They are told off by Choco, but he later steals their idea and puts up a poster stating that

04:04a comedy show is about to happen at his bar but that he wouldn't allow blind people there.

04:08Later, when Alexis and Charlie request that he let them participate, he charges them 2,000

04:13pesos for the tickets.

04:15They think of getting the ticket with Alexis' father's money.

04:18They were later robbed of the money by Lalo, who was in debt and wanted to clear it off.

04:23When they again reach Choco and tell him that they have run out of money, he asks Alexis

04:27to work as a pianist and Charlie as a gatekeeper for the six days of the comedy show.

04:32In return, he would let Charlie perform at his show.

04:35They agree to it, but on the last day, Alexis gets insulted by a stand-up comedian for his

04:39disability, and he walks out of the contract made with Choco.

04:43Later, they sell Charlie's car to pay the ticket prices.

04:47Just before the performance, Alexis' dad comes to the bar with investigators, as he thinks

04:51that the bar was involved in some shady business and he did not want Alexis to become involved

04:55in something that was illegal.

04:57This infuriates Alexis, as his dreams of becoming a stand-up comedian and attaining an audience

05:02base are almost about to be shattered by his father.

05:04Later, when Choco wants to cancel the show in fear of the investigation, Alexis' friends,

05:09However, jump in and decide to resolve the issue for Choco so that Alexis can participate

05:14in the program.

05:16What secrets about Choco get revealed?

05:18The friends find out that Choco was involved in the business of cockfights for extra cash.

05:23He explained to them that he had to resort to it because the bar was not doing so well.

05:28He also told them that Mina Cha, the inspector from Civil Rights Committee, was a partner

05:32with him in this business.

05:34Alexis and his troupe visit Miss Balderas, the director of the Civil Rights Committee.

05:39They convince her that the bar, La Perla, was not involved in any such shady businesses,

05:43but she does not buy it.

05:45They later request to let Alexis perform in La Perla, and then she could choose to shut

05:49down the bar after his performance, to which she agrees.

05:52Later, Miss Balderas tells Choco that if he could promise that he would make the bar a

05:56disability-inclusive place, then she would not shut down his business.

06:00Is Alexis able to perform?

06:02There are many distractions that Alexis is faced with before the performance.

06:06His mother comes up to him and tells him that he was also a very talented photographer

06:10and had once clicked her picture, even without seeing it.

06:13She explains to him that there was a radiant life force that surrounded the picture, and

06:17he was more than just a disabled young man.

06:20Alexis also finds out that Azul has not been going to her own rap concert to attend his

06:24program, which creates a sort of performance pressure on him.

06:28Before going up on the stage, he also gets into an altercation with Charlie, which completely

06:32shifts his focus, and he is unable to perform on the stage.

06:35Later, Johanna comes over with placards to the bar to stop discrimination against disabled

06:40people and shut the place down.

06:42The commotion is too much for Alexis to handle, and he falls off the stage.

06:47His inability to perform on the stage shatters his self-confidence and he decides to return

06:51home.

06:52What happens finally?

06:53Later, Charlie meets all his friends at Charlie's grandmother's funeral and gets criticized

06:58by them for letting go of his dreams.

07:00Later, when they return home, Alexis' mother explains to his dad how important it is to

07:04let him lead his own life.

07:06When Alexis had almost given up his dreams as a stand-up comedian, he realized that other

07:11people were recognizing him.

07:13Initially, he thought it was because one of his stand-up comedy shows had gone viral,

07:17but he soon realized that Charlie had opened a YouTube channel called Gnarly Charlie, where

07:20he would talk about the daily life and struggles of Alexis without his knowledge.

07:25He realizes his fault, goes back to his group, and apologizes to them.

07:30Charlie had received some money that his grandmother had left him, and he invested that in La Perla

07:34to open it again, and this time he had undertaken a partnership with Cho Cho to make it a disability-friendly

07:38place.

07:40It is in La Perla that Alexis again starts performing and showing the world his real

07:43capabilities.
