Lorenzo’s Plan to Escape
Lorenzo, the protagonist, realizes that his best chance to escape from Jervinos is by heading towards a church. This church becomes a symbol of hope for him, as he sees it as a sanctuary where he can evade his pursuers.
Pursued by Jervinos’ Men
Soon after his decision, Jervinos’ men resume their pursuit of Lorenzo. In an attempt to hide, Lorenzo climbs up a tree, taking refuge on one of its branches. His desperation to escape is evident, but he remains determined to find a way to safety.
The Church Incident
Lorenzo is eventually taken to the church, where two nuns start behaving inappropriately towards him. They begin to look at him in a suggestive manner, and before long, both nuns start kissing him in various places. This moment is presented as confusing and uncomfortable, yet Lorenzo seems to enjoy the attention, despite the inappropriate nature of the situation.
