Parking fees could be introduced at a popular scenic beach in a bid to stop it being overrun by a 'squatter camp' of campervans.

Overnight charges are being looked at as an option to stop drivers setting up for long periods at the Shingle Bank on Kent's Isle of Sheppey - which residents say is worse than ever for long-staying campervans.

For nearly six months locals have been calling for restrictions to be put in place, fearing the visitor hotspot, between Sheerness and Minster, is turning into an 'encampment'.

However, many campervan owners say argue they don't deserve the blame, and that other beach-goers leave more rubbish.
