Dyan Diamond - album In the dark 1979

  • 2 minuti fa
Venus & The Razorblades broke up in 1977 and promoter/manager Kim Fowley decided to work towards the 17-year-old Dyan Diamond's career. Diamond was signed by MCA, and debuted in 1978 with the album "In the dark". The album is a mix of pop, rockabilly, pseudo-punk and rock elements, highlighted by the deep and rich Diamond's voice and songwriting, the presence of Chris Darrow on various instruments, and the good work of the backing band.
Regrettably, the Lp didn't sell, and Diamond was dropped by MCA.
Diamond continued to play the Hollywood/L.A. circuit for some years, performimg a lot of original material that wasn't on her album, but she never signed with another laber and never recorded a second album
