00:00The island of Sodor is a wonderful place.
00:05Thomas enjoys puffing all over the island.
00:10There are lots of special places to visit.
00:14Where's this?
00:17That's right, it's the high hills of Sodor.
00:22The high hills of Sodor are home to the narrow gauge engines.
00:28Rusty, Peter Sam, Duncan, Skarloey,
00:33Rheneas, Sir Handel, Mighty Mac and Fearless Freddy.
00:40They're all very good friends and they're all really useful.
00:45It takes a lot of puff to chuff up and down
00:49and sometimes the engines run out of puff.
00:54One day a dinosaur skeleton had been discovered in the hills.
00:59The thin controller had given Rheneas the job of taking it to the transfer yards.
01:05Rheneas wanted to take the dinosaur all by himself.
01:10Rheneas puffed slowly up the steep hill.
01:15But the dinosaur was too heavy.
01:18His puff was going and his pistons could hardly pump.
01:23Rheneas puffed slower and slower.
01:28Then very sadly he rolled back down the hill.
01:35Rheneas wished his friend Skarloey was there to help him.
01:39And then he heard Skarloey's whistle.
01:44Rheneas was very happy.
01:46He knew that together they would have enough puff to climb any hill.
01:53Another day it was Skarloey who had to huff and chuff up a hill.
02:00Skarloey is a brave little engine.
02:03He likes to show off and play games.
02:06But this time he broke the winch on the incline.
02:10The incline was a very steep hill.
02:15Now no trucks could go up or down.
02:19Skarloey felt bad.
02:21The villagers high in the hills needed coal.
02:25He knew there was only one thing to do.
02:28He'd have to collect and deliver the coal himself.
02:33Skarloey chuffed round bend after bend after bend.
02:39The villagers were very pleased to see him.
02:42Now they had coal to make their home snug and warm.
02:49But for one engine the high hills were too much.
02:53And that engine was Sir Handel.
02:57Sir Handel could no longer climb the hills.
03:00But he didn't want to tell anyone.
03:04The thin controller gave Sir Handel a special.
03:08But he had to go up a hill.
03:11Sir Handel started to huff and puff.
03:15Then his pistons popped.
03:17His traction rods rattled.
03:19And his boiler bubbled and bounced.
03:23Sir Handel couldn't go on.
03:26So he had to tell the thin controller all about his problem.
03:32The thin controller had Sir Handel mended in no time.
03:36Now Sir Handel chuffs cheerfully up and down the hills once again.
03:42So that's why the high hills are very special for Sir Handel.
03:50There are so many special places on the island of Sodor.
03:54Next time Thomas will show us somewhere else.
