00:00I've played in the NBA longer than he's been alive, so, you know, he understands the nuances

00:06of it as far as just being around the game, but now he's a man and it's time for him to

00:10learn and get better with that.

00:25I want to coach the Lakers.

00:28I want to coach the team.

00:29I don't want to dispel anything.

00:31I don't.

00:32I want to become a great coach in the NBA, and I want to win championships, and I want

00:37my players to maximize their careers.

00:40That's all I f***ing care about.

00:41It's different by him being a first-time coach and head coach, so that's a little different,

00:48but the principles that he was, and the schemes that he wanted to bring into our organization

00:54just kind of stood out to me.

00:58Everyone in this building is cognizant of the fact that he's almost 40, but when we

01:04watch the pick-up games, he's going full tilt.

01:09He's on the court.

01:10He's going.

01:11So, in some ways, I think sometimes we maybe have to save him from himself.

01:15That's remarkable.

01:16That's unheard of, and you've got to tip your heart off to a guy like LeBron if we're able

01:21to keep his nose clean, stay focused.

01:26To be able to work with your son, I think that's one of the greatest things that a father

01:31could ever hope for or wish for, so it's pretty cool.

01:33It's awesome.

01:34It's historic.

01:35It's powerful.

01:36Just trying to keep that routine up and being myself, but also taking the time to tune out

01:45all the noise and tune out all the people that don't think I should be here.

01:50Obviously, the main focus is staying healthy, staying on the floor.

01:54The rest, as far as individual accolades and things like that, I just let it take care

01:58of itself.

01:59As accomplished as he's been as a player defensively, what parts of that game do you think you don't

02:04get enough appreciation for?

02:06All of it.

02:07The expectation is a championship, and so it's my job.

02:11It's our staff's job.

02:12It's Rob's job.

02:13It's all of us to deliver a championship-caliber team.

02:19That's what I signed up for.
