00:00And we continue our team coverage right now
00:03with AccuWeather correspondent Leslie Hudson.
00:05She joins us live from Lake Buena Vista,
00:08south of Orlando.
00:10Leslie, on the east coast of Florida,
00:12we're also very concerned about those impacts.
00:18Absolutely, Brie.
00:19So this is one of the many entrances
00:22into Walt Disney World Complex.
00:24So you can see it over my shoulder,
00:25very busy street traffic.
00:27Lots of folks are still moving around here.
00:30You know, Disney does this better than anyone else.
00:32They can pretty much maintain a normal flow of traffic
00:36when there is a major hurricane coming through the state
00:39in less than 48 hours.
00:41So I shot some video.
00:41I was in the barrier islands of the Tampa St. Pete area
00:45for about 10 days.
00:46And as I came out today, I wanted to show you, again,
00:49a steady flow of the traffic coming out of 275
00:53and then eventually I-4.
00:55No big problems.
00:56Folks were using the emergency shoulder.
00:58I was as well.
00:58It's completely legal.
00:59The state has said to go ahead
01:01and use the emergency shoulder as a way out of harm's way.
01:04But here in the Disney area, again,
01:06a lot of the folks have retreated to Orlando.
01:10It's landlocked.
01:11You know, we're 60 miles to the east of Tocco Beach
01:14and we're about 70 miles to the west
01:16to the Tampa St. Pete area.
01:18So, you know, it's relatively nestled here.
01:20And a lot of folks have come to this area.
01:22I've noticed that the hotels here,
01:25I've had a chance to get out.
01:26This is my actual hometown.
01:27I'm actually from here.
01:28I've lived here for over 20 years,
01:30but I got to look at some of the hotels here
01:31out at the attractions.
01:32And a lot of people are here from Tampa.
01:36I've seen a lot of folks with multiple canisters of gas.
01:39They have big, you know, rolling wagons of food.
01:43I talked to some people in the Disney area
01:45who are anticipating to lose power, you know,
01:48and if they do at some of these hotels,
01:49which probably won't be completely likely,
01:52the hotels here, again, do an excellent job
01:54of sustaining power during hurricanes.
01:56I was here for Hurricane Charlie as well.
01:59But if there is power outages, the folks are ready.
02:02They're kind of hunkering down and trying to get ready
02:04and make the best of a vacation for some folks.
02:06And for others, it's Milton evacuees.
02:09For now, we're reporting live in Lake Buena Vista
02:12in Orlando, Florida.
02:12Back to you.
02:14Well, thank you so much, Leslie.
02:16We'll continue to check back in with you.
02:18There are so many factors leading up to this
02:20that we would love to break down.
02:21So please stay safe.
