00:00In the past, the 2nd Infantry Division of the Philippine Army has always been a part of our projects.
00:12We were able to help them with the construction of the Kapuso School for those who were affected by the typhoon.
00:19And for those who were affected by the typhoon Enteng, the soldiers donated almost Php 800,000.
00:31In the aftermath of the typhoon Enteng, one of those who were not saved was the Kapuso Classroom
00:38that we built at Matagbak Elementary School in Pililla, Rizal.
00:43Although the structure was not damaged, some of the equipment could not be used.
00:50All of our equipment, computers, printers, and even children's modules were damaged or wet.
01:03This is also the situation in the classroom that we built at Vergilio Melendrez Memorial Elementary School in Pililla, Rizal.
01:13The water was up to here. The problem is that the equipment of the teachers was damaged.
01:18In the building, I did not see any problem. Structurally, there was no problem.
01:21It was said that there was an earthquake here.
01:24The plaster was just peeled off, but you can't see any cracks in its structure.
01:30After giving help to those who were affected,
01:34we will continue the Developmental Infrastructure Project for the victims of the typhoon Enteng.
01:41One of those who were saved was the 2nd Infantry Division of the Philippine Army.
01:47They donated almost Php 800,000 to the GMA Kapuso Foundation.
01:535,000 soldiers gave their whole hearts for their one-day meal allowance of Php 150.
02:02When they found out that this was for our fellow countrymen who were victims,
02:08I think no one hesitated. Everything was approved.
02:12We also included them in the construction of Kapuso Schools in Pulillo and Bordeo in Quezon,
02:18which were severely damaged by the earthquake.
02:22It is particularly touching to me because they are with us in the relief distributions.
02:30They will just eat. They even donated to us. That really means a lot.
02:36We also visited a few Kapuso Schools that were affected by the earthquake in Montalban, Rizal.
02:43The victims of the typhoon in Rizal were brought to their feet one by one.
02:52To ease their pain, the GMA Kapuso Foundation provided assistance.
03:02In Balangay 4 in Roja, in Palawan, there is a place called Purok Mangingizda.
03:09This is the main livelihood of the residents there.
03:14But because of the strong winds that followed the typhoon Ferdie, Henner, and Helen,
03:21the Mangingizda could not spread for almost a week.
03:26Just like Maricel's family.
03:29My husband could not find a job. My children are still small, ma'am.
03:33We don't have anything to feed them.
03:35Even my children are being abused.
03:37They cry every night because they don't know why our house suddenly collapsed.
03:41Balangay 4 was affected by the super typhoon Odette in 2021.
03:49That is why whenever there is a typhoon, Vilma's trauma comes back.
03:54Her child fainted because of the typhoon Odette.
03:58I was really abused.
04:00It really hurts.
04:02For the past three years, I have not been able to accept it.
04:05That is why the GMA Kapuso Foundation, the Western Command of the Philippine Army,
04:11distributed food packs for 2,400 individuals in the town of Rojas.
04:18We are the first NGO or non-government organization to provide assistance in the area.
04:24We are very thankful that you came to us.
04:28Just recently, the farmers in Taytay, Palawan were hit by a typhoon.
04:35That is why one of the affected barangays went there,
04:39where it was difficult to reach.
04:41BIT-BIT is the name of the help you provided.
04:46Michelle feels mixed feelings of sadness and regret
04:54after her vegetables were damaged during a bad time.
04:59This is their only livelihood.
05:03That is where we earn our daily income from our gardening.
05:08That is where we earn our daily income.
05:10Our children's future, just like their education.
05:13Michelle is not alone in this situation.
05:16Her fellow farmers in Barangay Kalawag, Taytay, Palawan
05:23were also affected by the typhoon.
05:27When the typhoon Ferdy arrived,
05:29our vegetables were damaged by the typhoon.
05:34The south-west monsoon is the wind that comes from the north.
05:39When the typhoon comes, especially when it is enhanced,
05:42it will affect the western section of our country,
05:46where Palawan is located.
05:50The GMA Kapuso Foundation is the source of the typhoon
05:55and typhoon damage in Palawan.
05:57That is why we immediately repacked our relief goods.
06:00The Philippine Army's Western Command is here.
06:04We brought this to Kororoy and Sitio Poblacion in Barangay Kalawag.
06:10Even if it is a long and narrow road,
06:13it did not become a barrier for us to send help
06:17to the 3,600 individuals who were affected by the typhoon.
06:22Even though we are here in a faraway place,
06:26we were not able to reach the GMA Kapuso to help.
06:31To those who want to help,
06:33please visit the GMA Kapuso Foundation website
