00:19The project to design and manufacture these rifles is costing Taiwan more than $200 million.
00:49But that's just a fraction of the massive amount of defence spending Taiwan is currently
00:56undertaking as it looks to counter the threat from China. Boosting domestic production of
01:01weapons and modernising the military is all part of Taiwan's porcupine strategy, making
01:07an attack on the country as unattractive as possible to China.
