Meet Charlie Barratt - the Blackpool youngster who LOVES the lift in the tower for a VERY special reason.
The talented kid was heard reciting the speech which used to be played to customers in the Blackpool Tower lift - and the manager was SO impressed that he invited young Charlie to do a professional voiceover recording - making him the official voice of the Tower lift!
Two years later, he is still Tower-mad and says he can't wait until he is old enough to work in his favourite structure.

00:00It first started when it was my first time in the Blackpool Tower
00:05and I heard the people talking in the lift at the tower
00:10before they had the actual audio recording.
00:13I recited the speech when they did it
00:17and then that's how I got into the Blackpool Tower.
00:22I originally recorded and recited the speech
00:26and then we sent it to my senko at my old school
00:32and she sent it to a friend of hers
00:37called Kenny Mew who used to be the manager at the Blackpool Tower
00:41but he doesn't work there anymore
00:43and then he said, oh wow, that's really fluent
00:47and you have no script or anything
00:50so that's how I got the lift speech at the Blackpool Tower.
00:55Did you get to go in a professional recording studio?
01:00Yes, so it's down the road
01:02and it was in the middle of Blackpool Town Centre
01:06but you go into Blackpool
01:08and it's called Coastal Radio Content Curators
01:12and Ross, who works at the tower,
01:17went into Coastal Radio and recorded it with me.
01:22So I memorise speech when I'm on the way up
01:25and then I try and see if I can memorise it
01:27and then I record it
01:29and then I get the music and then I can edit it all together.
01:34And you do all the editing as well?
01:37Yes, so I don't necessarily put all of the voice bits in together
01:41because I've memorised it and I'm fluent with it
01:45so all I need to do is edit with it, get the music and drag it in
01:51so I can play it as the music.
01:54Looking at this tower next to you, how did this come to be in your house?
02:00So originally it was a man called Gerry
02:06so he built this tower all out of lollipop sticks
02:11as you can see it's all wooden, all lollipop sticks at the top there.
02:15He saw the voice on the BBC News
02:20and then he got in touch and then he said
02:24I'd like to donate this because he thought that would be a very good gift
02:29and it was for free so he didn't have to pay anything for it.
02:33And how many times have you visited the Blackpool Tower?
02:36I have absolutely no idea, probably loads of times, a thousand times
02:41probably like that because I've been in 2022, 2023, 2024.
