00:00The election season is in full swing, so of course Saturday Night Live is doing weekly
00:04sketches poking fun at the whole thing. That includes the show making jokes at Democratic
00:09candidate Kamala Harris' expense, with Maya Rudolph playing the current vice president.
00:14Harris says that she thinks it's funny, telling Howard Stern recently that she's a huge fan of
00:19Rudolphs and the work she puts into the character. However, it seems Howard Stern doesn't share the
00:24sentiment. During the interview, he had this to say about it.
00:27I hate it. I don't want you being made fun of.
00:32There's too much at stake. I believe the entire future of this country right now.
00:36I mean, as America, land of the free, home of the brave, I think it's literally on the line.
00:41Harris' take on the show lampooning her and her husband, who's been played this
00:45season by veteran cast member Andy Samberg, is the counter to Trump.
00:48The former president has been a mainstay of the show since he first ran in the 2016 election,
00:54having been played and caricatured by countless comedians since.
00:57However, he has not been as gracious a target as Harris, saying about the show after a sketch
01:02about the January 6th committee in 2022, quote, I once hosted Saturday Night Live,
01:07and the ratings were huge. Now, however,
01:09the ratings are lower than ever, and the show will probably be put to rest.
