In a fierce escalation of hostilities, Hezbollah unleashed a devastating missile barrage on the Israeli city of Kiryat Shmona, overwhelming the Iron Dome defense system and leaving two dead in the aftermath. Over 20 rockets were launched from Lebanon, pounding the city and causing widespread destruction.
