00:00First thing, the most powerful is the site of the Israelis which were massacred and butchered
00:09and raped and beheaded by the cannibals of the Hamas. This is something which is
00:18so painful that there is no way that we can just ignore the terrible ramifications of what
00:30happened. Let us take stock. Where is the Middle East today? The Middle East is in the middle
00:37of a military, violent, brutal confrontation, the lack of which we haven't experienced
00:47for many, many years. And the question is, where is it going to? Is it going to
00:56relax somehow, or is it going to expand and become a major all-out war that will involve
01:05the major powers? Where is the resolution? How does it come about, if it does come about?
01:13Together with a colleague of mine from the Palestinian side, the former foreign minister
01:18of the Palestinian Authority and the ambassador to the United Nations, Dr Nasser al-Kidwa, we have
01:25drafted a written plan, and we signed it, which offers the procedure to end the war in Gaza
01:36and then to embark on negotiations for a two-state solution. Let's assume that
01:41we have successfully destroyed the military capacity of Hamas and that Gaza can be
01:48controlled by more moderate forces of the Palestinian Authority in cooperation with
01:58our countries, moderate Arab countries. What is next for us, and what is next for them?
02:07There are still six million Palestinians in Gaza and in the West Bank. What do we want to do
02:15in order to change the balance that has characterized the relations between us and
02:21them for so many years? I think that we have to embark on negotiations that will lead to a
02:26two-state solution.
