But yesterday (8) - two years later - the smitten pair finally celebrated with friends and family, with a party on a boat.
There was a sign outside stating the ceremony was for "Verity and Lee" - and photographers were on hand to capture the big day.
They were spotted hugging or carrying their children, dressed in spotted Spanish-influenced dresses, while Verity wore a stunning red dress.
