00:00So the September figures which will still show 16 million pounds worth of

00:07overspend, forecast overspend, but these actions will reduce that further.

00:14Could it be argued that these efficiencies, cost savings, are kind of

00:20tinkering around the edges a bit? Some would say you perhaps should have been

00:25doing them anyway, and are you not actually just pushing the can down the road

00:30because a number of these things that you've mentioned, you're putting off

00:33things to the next financial year where the same issue is going to come around next year?

00:37Yeah, no, you are right and that's why I talked about the sort of the

00:44more sustainable cost improvements that we prefer to keep going and are keeping going.

00:50So the 12 million is those longer-term beneficial schemes, those efficiency schemes,

00:56the medicines optimisation, and that's where we continue to focus. But you are right,

01:05no one wants to be halfway through the year having to almost do the salami slicing schemes,

01:13which ultimately you are just delaying something. But obviously we have made that

01:21commitment to reduce our deficit and these are the schemes that we feel we can implement

01:29with the least impact on frontline services. That's not to say there's no impact,

01:34but these are the least impact.
