00:00I'm speaking with Sarah. Sarah, how are you doing?
00:04Good, thanks.
00:06So we're right at your exhibition at your hometown in Derby at Dubrek Studios. How are you feeling?
00:12A bit nervous but excited to have my work at home because I wanted to do something for home and with my friends, so it's great.
00:23So wig making is a unique job. When and how did you get to explore it as a career path?
00:32The hair came from when I went to Derby College to do hair a very long time ago, got sidetracked, worked with Dementia for 10 years at the Royal.
00:43And then I just really felt like I needed to do hair and the wigs kind of just came from that because I do a bit of everything, session work and wig work.
00:55Great. And how do you feel when you see people wearing your creations?
01:00It's a bit weird. It's a bit weird but also I have to stay detached. I'm very proud but also I send them all around the world so it is pretty amazing to see people wearing it.
01:16So what were Dolly Parton and Dita Von Teese like to work with?
01:23Dita was my first ever client. I was still working at the hospital when I first ever did her hair. She's a friend and I always make sure that I always talk about her because she's such a big part of my life.
01:41She's absolutely amazing and then Dolly is just wild. She's exactly what you think she would be. A bit sassy but really cool.
01:52Like a larger than life character almost?
01:55Yeah, she's exactly what you think she would be.
01:58How did these projects come to be?
02:02I started working with Dolly in 2020. I did her niece's hair, Rebecca, for the Grain Launcher and then it kind of snowballed from there which was amazing.
02:22Great. Do you have anything to add to the interview?
02:25No, I'm just happy to do something at Sony.
